Busses and Glocks

I love the Sigs. When I went to buy one, I wanted to get one my wife would have no trouble with. The Sig, she kept forgetting what all the buttons were for. Decocker, exposed hammer, slide release, safety, and the mag release. Then I had her handle a Glock. Slide release, and mag release. That's basically it. Point and click. The Glock was just plain simpler to learn and use. I shoot well with it, and so does the wife. Of course, not as well as I shoot some of my other pistols, but not too shabby. Glock in the middle of the pack.

of course, embarrassed to post in the same forum with Lunde's photo's

For anyone complaining about Glocks not fitting the hand, check this:

And that's not even the EXTREME reduction. I'll be getting my 21sf back from GentleBen tomorrow and IT NOW HAS A 1911 GRIP ANGLE. Ben's work blows Robar and Bowie to pieces. Click the link in my sig line. I'll try to post pics of the 21sf when I get it.

I'm not in the club, but the way I go is Sig, and then the recently discovered (for me) Busse came along, and then a pair of suspenders to help the belt support them both! Maybe I am a part of the club since I've been drinking Pendelton (NW guys take note) for about three hours now...
Gargs

I own two Glocks 19 and 23 but no pics of them.

How about Python and a small Hog.

Sadly in a moment of weakness I traded the Python for 1916 Commercial Colt 1911.

Here's the BSSed 21sf I'll be picking up from GentleBen later on this evening (along with a nice ISOM to smoke while we slurp some Balvenie on the dock). Points JUST like a 1911, except there is that Glock reliability and 13+1 of GDHP's. :D:thumbup:

Wow... GentleBen does some damn fine work! I've bought a model 32 with a grip reduction and stippling, but it does not look as good as yours. I'm jealous!

I've always liked the simplicity and looks of the Glock but never liked the way it fit my hand. With that mod it looks like it would fit a lot better. Hmm I may have to revisit the Glock when the money becomes available. Can we get some more pics showing the grip and maybe in the hand too?

James...I'll do my best to get some different shots this weekend. I picked up the gun last night, and it feels fantastic. You wouldn't believe the little details either.

It has a molded, angled magwell now instead of that hole that used to be there.

The trigger guard has been deeply undercut and radiused so that I can get higher on the grip and so that the flat plastic doesn't mess up my finger during longer shooting excercises.

Ben also beveled the bottom of the trigger guard so that the plastic is a bit more friendly on the hands.

The beavertail is a bit higher and deeper so that--again--I can grab higher on the grip.

The hump on the backstrap is pretty much gone, which lets me get more of my short, stubby fingers in the trigger guard.

And then there's just Ben's attention to detail. All the lines are straight, and the stippling looks like it was machined into the frame at the factory. He really is doing fantastic work.

I dare someone to pit one of his guns against one from Robar or Bowie Tactical. Theirs might be functional guns, but Ben's are functionally superior, and better looking...not to mention a bit cheaper and a lot faster (for now).

Here's a link to a thread at USN where there are some good pics of a recently done/tested G19. Check it out if you can, James. If not, let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I carry a Glock on a daily basis and trust my life with them.

Personally, a firearm is a tool. I have Glocks, 1911s, HKs, Sigs, etc - whatever works and works for you.

Arguing over what is better is like trying to argue whether vanilla or chocolate is better...

The main key is being able to handle the pistol and make fast, accurate hits and follow-up shots.

Train on what you carry and rely on.
