I was thinking of an old friend from the forums who use to buy 100's of knives off of this site. He had over two thousand knives.
(He no longer can, because he got band from here a few years back. - I think for getting into it with a Mod. - So don't ask.)

Anyway how about you - do you buy knives off of Bladeforums.com?

Give some input if you like, on how it's gone for you.

This will be private - no one can see your choice.

you should have an option of, "Not yet, but would". I would be in that category since I've not bought one off of here, but probably will eventually, if I ever decide I need another knife.

Forgot to add this choice in the poll - you guys can vote with a post or just go to exchange and buy one real quick......:D

Thanks

.

Most of my knives (since joining BF) have been from the exchange. I have bought, sold, and traded quite a bit. Just trying to figure out how to trade blood for knives...

I upgraded to a gold membership with the intent to sell/buy knives...

And guess what?
After one attemp to sell a knife I've found out I'm way too lazy to mess with PayPal, money orders, people haggling me, bad trade deals, etc...

I guess my name looks cooler in "gold" though:D

I have purchased everything from rare collectibles to around the shop beaters. All the sellers were honest and I have never had a problem. If I have any questions about the knife I ask Before I buy it.

Of the knives I own about half are from the exchange. I've sold some too. Over all it has been a very good experience. I will continue to frequent the exchange.

I bought one before even thinking about "bad" sellers - luckily, all three sellers have been top notch so far.

Yes I know I should of put that one in, just a laps there in my old brain.....

But guys like you can just vote with your post or just run over to the exchange and buy one real quick.:D

i have bought quite a few on the exchange and will do so again. I mostly buy from the makers direct and my only regret is that some of the more popular makers started at times when I had no money. The exchange and ordering direct from makers are the only ways I seem to buy now.

I'm actually thinking of selling my Wenger SAK on the exchange. Like new, no box, has cut paper to test the sharpness, comes with all accessories. Pictured here with my Kizer Ki423 (not for sale).

Think I've bought 10 or 12 off of the exchange....all outstanding experiences too. I always think I'm going to sell some too, but every time I start sorting through the collection, I find some reason to keep them all :D

99% or my purchases are done here. I look at the seller's feedback, post history etc. One can save a considerable amount of cash. Found a BM 760LFTi with a couple of scratches on the blade for $125 or so, a Lionsteel SR1a TNP in black for $150 in pristine condition, just picked up a like-new-no-box Sage 2 for something like $105. Do your homework and you'll be fine.

I've bought probably over 100 knives on here. Only ever had one "so-so" transaction. I received one knife that I didn't think was described well by the seller. Tried to get my dough back but he had already spent it. The knife turned out to be "ok" so I kept it for a while and sold it off when I didn't need it. I described it accurately, and the dude who bought it loved it, and still has it. This was years and years ago.
