Buying toys online to make yourself feel good.

Thats an old pic. Mrs. Powernoodle bought me a Sears tool chest a couple of years ago, where they now reside.

There's always something I convince myself I need.

Right now I need:

New Carry On travel bag (to carry iPads, camera, passports, extra pair of socks and underwear, maybe a magazine etc)

New Wallet (really like Saddleback leather's offerings)

Multi Tool (Leatherman Juice XE6)

Having amazon prime makes me buy all kinds of stuff I don't need. Free 2 day shipping and no tax? Why not.

My last pointless purchase was a zt0801 and a 2 beer coozie.

I've said this before, so I won't blab about it here too much, but so many things that people do produce the result of temporarily distracting ourselves from our inner turmoil - overeating, overbuying, hoarding, porn, "collecting" knives or stamps or anything, etc. Booze, drugs, food, etc. are all forms of self-anesthesia that temporarily suppress our angst and distract us from the trainwreck between our ears. Me owning 100+ knives is no different, but the side effects and adverse consequences of this particular addiction are not so bad.

This is the first time in my years on BladeForums where I have saved a post for future reference. That's probably the best post in BF history right there.

That damn amazon prime is the devils sauce. I must confess...it does feel good bro...but I'm always buying way to much and stuff I don't need. Diapers this week which I did need...cost me 250.

This. Especially that terrible "Buy Now with One-Click." Whoever implemented that is an evil marketing genius with no morals.

Its like buying yourself a B-day present each time......
Just remember not to spend rent money and that its not your freaking bday everyday! TWBD TWBD TWBD

That picture freaked me out a little. I sort of fear becoming something like this. Although, I would probably worse off if I had free or cheap in shipping in Canada like there is in the US. That curbs a lot of online impulse buying.

I needed a new watch strap for my suunto core, so naturally I ordered a whole new watch to keep the strap company while it is enroute to me....

Or after placing an order for two benchmades.... (two because I justify the second one as I wont have to pay for shipping twice........... but is it really justified... thats the question,)
I begin looking for the next one I like, or the next tool, or gadget.... to the point that I go online to some internet gathering of people who only talk about knives and gadgets... and that cant be good for my mental status... or can it.

well, I really want a new wallet, so instead of buying one of the fancy new aluminum and titanium plate wallets... I bought a piece of aluminum to make one..... progress

I do the same thing. the shipping is were they get ya!

Well , I guess I should join the club.
I order useless crap all the time... watches, knives.

I even placed a knife order when I was away on vacation.
The box was waiting for me when I got home.

I try not to buy things I don't need. Clothes and knives have been my failing point on that front. I have a bunch of clothes ive worn once and knives I bought to fill niches I don't inhabit. :)
