hmmm....
definitely not the Leavenworth I'm familiar with.......

Ft. Leavenworth, that is.

Small Bavarian town in the middle of the Cascades, they have the best Oktoberfest in the state. I may be camping near there this weekend, it's a gorgeous little area.

Guyon, How many years have you been doing that amazing and fascinating work!!!

Two and a half years maybe? I took Jeff Randall's SRT class and Huntsville Cave Rescue Unit's SRT class around the same time, and a guy at HCRU took me caving for the first time. Been doing pit drops and more and more caving since then with a pretty consistent cast. The group has bounced a lot of classic TAG pits together, including Natural Well, Neversink, Stephen's Gap, Valhalla, etc. I've also gotten into the rigging and techniques that come with ropes rescue and have taken Jeff's High Angle Rescue class, a mountain rescue class in North Carolina, and the Huntsville Cave Rescue class. Am going to get current with some med skills and join HCRU this coming year, most likely.

Yea, crazy stuff Guyon I don't think I would look that relaxed next to a 400' drop off haha ha

I was unnerved and in slow gear, but we had the benefit of a safety line, and I was prusiked into my rigger's belt. People used to do the sketchy "crawl of death" without a safety line. I was worried less about the vertical drop than the belly-crawl (at times) approach.

Good for you Guyon grab life and enjoy it. Its way to short to lay around debating what ifs. I'm 53 and I'm training for the Devils Path hike. Bout 24 miles and 5 peaks thru the Catskill Range. October should be cool enough atleast in the day time lol

My weekend there was awesome. We had a little cabin with a hot tub out back. It was, in a word...perfect.
The wife and I aren't big drinkers, but we polished off a 5th of Tito's Friday night. That was fun.
She got to shop to her hearts desire Saturday. I had my fill of beer and brats in the biergarten each day. Fantastic anniversary weekend overall.
There's tons of camping up there. I'd like to spend a week sometime.

Edit: I don't believe linking to w&c is allowed. Sorry if I'm wrong, but that forum is age specific.

Daizee edit: My intent was to redirect political commentary to where it belongs. That edit suggest my intent was inappropriate. Is that true?

I had a very bad experience with Camping World. They were incredibly rude, and unprofessional with my wife and I. We were looking to make a sizeable purchase, and they lost the sale due to a sales person, and then a manager telling us that what we wanted was not what we wanted. I will never go back.

Haha, really? I was pretty sure of your intent, but when I clicked on it, on my phone earlier, it took me to the w&c forum, not a specific thread. That said, although I don't recall seeing a particular rule for it, w&c is age specific, I think? Under a certain age isn't allowed there, so I wasn't sure if linking to it was allowed. I'm not sure how me thinking that suggested to you that I thought your intent was inappropriate?

It's all about context. But it's all good.

Please take political debate to the political subforum here: https://www.bladeforums.com/forums/bladeforums-com-political-arena.685/

As my only comment on the matter, with the kind of campers I live with that statement would boost sales tremendously, so I wouldn't assume anything based on CEO political comments.

You can link to the W&C subforum itself if you're trying to redirect people to a more appropriate subforum for whatever comment you're replying to, but linking to individual threads in that subforum isn't allowed just because of the typical content that resides there.

What BCK said is only appropriate in the Political Arena subforum, not W&C like Daizee originally linked to (I assume), so it should be taken there and not here.
