Aw come on, don't be lazy.

Go to the cabin, blow up boulders, chop sh** up, take a lot pictures and post them for us larda**es to be envious and feel guilty for being such larda**es. :D
I wanted to go this weekend, but can't really afford to. Besides that, my wife has commitments Saturday, and Sunday. Kind of boring going there alone.

:D I like snark. You are good peeps BCK!

Sometimes I wish I had a cabin. My house is like a cabin but it isn't the same when you live in it.

DunkEm,

Just saw where it looks like Austin County (and others) is expected to get 20" to 26" of rain this weekend. How far from the Brazos River are y'all? Any creeks in the neighborhood y'all will have to be concerned about?

Playing with the FB Bushfinger tonight.
NixKustoms leather sheath.
This might just be one of my favorite setups...:D

We are probably 10+ miles from the Brazos, but there are plenty of places around that are going to flood. Fortunately our house shouldn't be one - barring the roof being ripped off be freak winds. I haven't been in a big storm yet here, so I don't know how reliable the power grid is. I'm trying to remember we don't live on the coast like we did when Ike came through. Hopefully it will stay strong and this won't be anything but days and days and days of rain for us.

Good luck down there and try to stay dry. I've had differing reports as to what to expect up here. One station was predicting hurricane force winds all the way to Austin and another station was saying max winds around 45 mph. So who knows what we will get.

Yea, good luck to ya for sure .

ROVs are diving on a sunken WWII submarine outside the straits of Juan de Fuca this morning.
High-res mapping may limit the views for a little bit, but should be cool. I missed the initial fly-over (asleep).
My employer doesn't have a paying membership. so I can't send a direct link, but y'all know how to find us... ship named after a famous imaginary submarine whose name rhymes with shmautilus, and we're streaming live.

Archery deer and elk season starts this weekend. I am pretty stoked, though I have been so busy with other stuff that I feel somewhat unprepared. Probably won't venture out to the woods this weekend though. Way too damn hot and everything will be dry as a bone and therefore quite noisy...

Temps have actually been nice here the last few days. 75° right now.

When I was stationed at Ft Hood I would ride my motorcycle around Texas when I could. One day I ended up at some park on the way to Waco. I was going to see the race boats on the Brazos. The park was named Iron Bridge park. It had a creek running under it maybe a foot or two deep. I remember there was a giant measuring stick on the side of the bridge. I think it went up to 25 feet!!!!! Thats why the bridge looked like it could handle a bombing raid from thd 8th Airforce.Crazy!!!!
