Cabin (UPDATED)

I am glowing green with envy Dubs. Not only did you get the cabin and the land, but you also have tons of fun, satisfying work to do to make it your own, and trick it out. What could be better ?

Thanks man. Funny how you dread doing projects at home, and can't wait to get there to work, haha.

Very cool Dubz, I'm insanely jealous you lucky bastard!
Thanks man. I'm jealous of your JEEP. Have always wanted a cabin and a JEEP. Half way there.

Looks like a great place and one of many great times to come.

Congrats.

Oh, I agree, get a Jeep! I am on my 4th one in a row... LOL

Thanks man. A Jeep will be mine, one of these days, haha.

What a grand spot Dubz. You lucky bastard.

Thanks man. Lucky is right. A set of circumstances led me to be able to purchase this. You ever been to Millstream Gardens tw?

Fun stuff! That cabin looks like a blast, but it looks like there's a lot of beautiful country around to boot!

Thanks Ethan, appreciate it. We'll be creating some awesome memories there. Next time I'll get more photos of the 9, haha.

Lovin it. Really happy for you and your better half. There's something special about making a place your own. Thanks for sharing the adventures!

More knives next time please. At least if I get jealous of your knives I can go play with my own. I don't have my own cabin to play with.

Thanks brother, appreciate it. Haha, I know right? Took a gazillion photos, and just one knife photo.

Went back to the cabin this past weekend. My son leaves for Denver the 26th, so this was our last hurrah together before he left. We haven't done anything with just the two of us for years. Worked our butts off, but had a good time.

We got there Friday evening, unpacked, got a small fire going, as it was hot out, and cooked some hotdogs over the fire. We awoke to rain Saturday morning. I made breakfast, and we headed to town to pick up a few things at Wally. Made a few stops on the way back, as it was clearing up outside.

We'll start this off right with some bacon, haha:

Stopped at Thompson Ford Public Access on the way back from town:

We then stopped at Silver Mines Campground, and did a small hike there. Overcast out, but still a pretty area:

Finally, we did away with the "slingshot" tree. We sawed this down with a bow saw. Took us two hours, LOL. We were freakin' tired. Then, after it fell down, it slid down the hill onto the lane, so we had to go cut part of it off, to get it off the road, haha. We were exhausted.

The tree. Hated how it messed with the view:

We also thinned out the foliage. Now it's a nice view:

We then thinned out the trees that were in the way of the front porch view.

We had to deal with a little rain Saturday morning, and Saturday evening, but we still had a blast. I didn't get a chance to burn anything because of it, but we still got a lot done.
