California Spring Bush Bash 2011. Sequoia NF. April 29 - May 1 **NOW WITH PICS**

From my knowledge of the road coming in from 180, it may appear shorter on the map, but it will take you longer to get there.

The original directions I gave with mileage at various turns is correct, at least by my odometer. I have been there many times, and it is pretty simple to get there.

You are probably right, but Hartland Christian Camp provides directions from Fresno on their website. I'm going to give it a try. If I get stuck or if it takes longer, or the mileage is more I give everyone license to ridicule me all weekend.

Ok i finaly found the info the cordinates are they are in WGS84. Hope that helps
N 32. 52.773
W 116. 12.676

Mike no matter how much you try you could never drop so many things as gracefuly on the ground and the fire lol

Assuming the Google Maps link in the first post of this thread is correct, then it looks like all the sets of GPS coordinates discussed in the thread are wrong. I have created legal-size (8.5x14") color map of the location with Lambertiana's directions included. You can download a PDF of it from this link:

Can someone tell me if this is the correct location?

Close, but I believe you need to be North East of that location off of Eshom Valley Dr. It's not far past the Hartland Christian Camp.

Edit: Nope, my bad, on second look that is it.

Put these coordinates in Bing or Google and you get the same spot: 36.66718,-118.967627 (which is what I posted in the first post)

And that's the right spot.

I thought I would push this back up where new folks can see it.

Started getting my gear together to avoid the last minute scramble. Anyone have any idea what the conditions are like in our camp location? I understand that it was pretty damp last year at this time, and wondering what I should prepare for.

I brought a tarp (and poles) and found it useful. Also note there's no water on site. Otherwise, just regular car camping gear.

When I arrived at the site last spring, it was covered in snow. Got below freezing the first night. I doubt it'll be that cold this year, but it's possible.

Thanks, guess I better plan for a little of everything. I'm going to go pack considerably less this time, so picking and choosing the essentials. I'd consider riding up if I could figure how to properly carry and secure a rifle to the motorcycle.

I actually have two of those patches, and with a little duct tape I think I can attach the Mini-14 to the front of my bike. I'll just have to ride really really fast to avoid the highway patrol.

This thing is coming up fast! I'm going to propose a shooting competition with three categories; 1) Handgun, 2) non-scoped rifle, and 3) scoped rifle. Best combined score takes it. I'm also thinking that we do at least two "workshops"...perhaps bow-drill and tarp shelter setup. I have tarp and para-cord out the ying-yang, and have been sorting out a few key knots. Thoughts?

I'm all for the shooting competition. I'm down with whatever. I'll bring most of my guns, of course.

I'd like a workshop too. I just don't know if any of us can teach anything useful. :)

Well i know that can teach cooking.... Maybe we should have the best sandwhich competion... Well just a thought..
