Calling all Eagle Scouts....

It's not too late. As far as I can tell, this offer is good for all Eagle Scouts, regardless of when you earned it.

Yep...
Here's the scoop from Buck:

"Yes, we have a knife for Eagle Scouts. It is the Model 500 Duke. It is only used for Eagle Scouts unless it is a Limited Edition like the ones in this and last years catalog. The cost is $32.00 plus $2.48 for tax for a total of $34.48. Shipping and Engraving are included in that price. We engrave the Scout's name, the Eagle Scout emblem, their troop number and their Board of Review date."
Engraving is on the bolsters.

What a nice gift idea for a new Eagle Scout (or an old one, for that matter). We just had an Eagle Scout Court of Honor this past Monday and it would have been great to have presented the lad with a knife.

Thanks for posting this information. It will be forwarded to our committee.

Goose,

The Model 500 comes with a sheath???? I have a few now but none with sheaths???
Is it Buck's standard policy to ship a sheath with the 500 series knives?

It'll be my first 500 and that statement is from an e-mail I received from a Buckaroo at Buck.

I..am proud to be,, an Eagle Scout, and I thought I should take it upon myself to inform all of you about something great from Buck. I found out from 334Dave that Buck makes a custom buck 500 just for Eagle Scouts. It has your: name, troop number, and date of award. ... Congradulations to those of you who stuck it out and made Eagle Scout, it is a great honor that can't be bought like everything else these days.
Sincerely, J.

I too am an Eagle Scout. At the time, I was the youngest Scout ever to make Eagle in the USAFEUR (United States Armed Forces in Europe) way back in 1954. My dad was stationed in Germany shortly after the war (we were still called Occupation Forces). Our Scoutmaster was Air Force and a survivor of the Bataan Death March. He was a former member of the Phillipine Scouts, a gerilla (sp) group that drove the Japanese nuts during their occupation of the Phillipines. Unfortunately, he was captured and became an unwilling member of the Death March. Needless to say, his ability to survive was passed down to us Scouts. And, I wish I could have told him that what he taught me back in those days really were put to use while on duty in Vietnam cruising around the Mekong. My certificate and card are long lost with all the moves I have made over the years, and my Eagle badge is somewhat tattered and worn. But it still has a place of honor on my wall.

Richard , i am very sure that if you sent a xerox or fax of your badge to Joe that they will be glad to make one for you!!!
wow- i am one year older then your badge!!

I have a quick comment on Buck knives and scouting. Way back in 1991 (ha) I had just decided to join the Boy Scouts. Before I left for our first camping trip my dad gave me a buck lite. I still have that knife, and I still pull it out on occassion to give it some attention. Anyhow...few years later I recieved my Eagle Scout. That knife was on my side the entire time.

Buck Bros,

I called about ordering the Eagle Scout knife for my son.:D According to Ms. Karen Cook at Buck, all she needs is your Troop Number and date of Eagle Award. No documentation is required as she said we are all on our "Scout's honor" in requesting the knife.:eek: The Troop Number and date is engraved on the bolsters along with the Eagle insignia.:D
$32 and free shipping!!!:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:
