I carried that 834UH for the last five days, wanted to switch it up this morning, but not much; 34OT for today. OH

True enough. On the other hand, many who post on BladeForums don't have a good handle on spelling and punctuation. Maybe it's a wash in that respect. The offerings from Schrade and probably other companies exhibited less and less handwork as opposed to pre-war knives and even knives from the 1960s. They are still interesting and useful knives. I hope my punctuation and spelling meets approval. I don't think that it has deteriorated since the Walden years.

Your spelling and punctuation is a heck of alot better than mine,I have received pm's about my spelling and punctuation being gibberish and to quit posting, I will be the first to admit I gravitated more to the bush then school, what's that saying about a grade 12 if you did grade 6 twice

My point being is that all aspects of manufacturing and education have experienced a steady slide in quality since the WWII years. It was not intended to be an attack. If one looks at the back of any Schrade knife or the grinds and finish of the blades, comparing to work before (say) 1960, the differences are clear. And the same goes for expectations from anyone using the language, whether, written, digital, or audio. I go back to the 1940s and my knife interests go back even farther. I have read a great deal of text from individuals from the 1700s and 1800s and the differences between then and now in regard to vocabulary and usage of our Mother Tongue is shocking. It has nothing to do with intelligence, it is just cultural. But it is a destructive phenomenon.

17547680025531681983332335946818.jpgI brought this mass produced limited edition china made 80t, truth be told it is well made for 12.00 cnd,I had wanted a usa made to compliment my schrade in jigged bone but prices were high to get to canad and now being collected added more cost,I thought the blade sizes would be a standard size for the pattern but the schrade bone has thicker and more defined blades,so not standard at all.

Often when I post, my typing mistakes on the keyboard are horrendous! I look back at my post and just shrink- some times if someone comments ( by joking ) about it I will leave it and not correct it, if on the other hand I see it once I hit "post reply" I will try to fix it.
At most its my stubby ended fingers hitting the wrong keys and my impatience by not proof reading before I post.

For someone to contact you about your posts being gibberish and to quit posting, I would name and shame that person and man I would answer back with fire, I love your posts Oldy Oldy don't you dare stop because of negativity, I cant even recall seeing a post of yours being gibberish.

I couldn't tell you how many times I pushed edit to correct something only to edit again because it was made even worse,my son's friend who I used to have tag along to get him out of the city bought me a Google box to ask for spelling help lol,ya I was tempted to name and shame but I'm more for looking a person in the eyes and if I can't my son told me to let it pass lol.i received enough support from some members pm to not let it make me leave which I appreciated.i have been learning to use were and where etc to show old dogs should ever stop trying to improve our weaknesses, but I should keep some stuff to myself 😂

What would it be like to step out of a '34 Ford Crown Victoria at the front doors of Schrade Cutlery in Walden, NY, on a sultry day in August, 1939, with $5000 in greenbacks in your hip pocket, wearing a natty three piece suit with a jaunty fedora, a solid gold watch chain with an earlier arch stamp fob knife and a BIG Swiss engraved solid gold-clad pocket watch. Standing for a few moments to catch the elusive zephyr bringing a hint of some froggy aromas from down the mill race, and turning to smile at your new pick-up, a vamp from Baltimore, you saunter into the front foyer where a nice lady greets you. The place is redolent with pipe smoke and just a hint of grinding dust in the air. Faint sounds of tapping are heard in the floors above. The sweet lady inquires after your needs, and you tell her that you need to place an order for some filled boxes of a few patterns, mostly in mother of pearl. As the transaction proceeds, she calls excitedly for Louis, who not only greets you warmly but insists on an unusually excellent lunch with him and some others at the firm, who are nudging each other and smiling broadly. It is a good day.

We were born too late!!!! 😂 😂 😂

Schrade must have made a lot of these Electrician's knives! I've seen many Cut Cos marked TL-29 on the handle, which were made for Military Issue, and this is the post-WWII civilian version! A useful working knife, this must be an earlier Walden model, with its Cocobola Handles!!Coca Elec Walden .jpg
