Camping thread

We're goign camping this weekend while i run a race, should be fun,

I looked into running that, but I had an injury mid July from a 9 mile run. Still not back to where I was, hopefully well by mid October, I'm signed up for a 10K then.

As for camping, I took two of my kids for the first time last fall. Camped in the backyard, we did sleep out in the tent all night, but our little dome tent sure was crowded. The kids are wanting to do it again, just waiting for cooler weather.

This is from a bare bones trip I made in January a couple years ago, debris shelter that survived a pretty good storm that night. I only had two small leaks drip on the ridgepole.



Here's Beaver Creek on a Feb. trip where I about froze the night before. It was a nice sight to get up too though.

Nicer pictures, shame you won't be able to make it, i sprained my ankle last year and only just about got good to go before the race. Most difficult course i've ever seen FYI, they're changing it some this year so we'll see.

I wanted to sign up for the Nada Tunel run and some other 5k to 10's, (more my distance to be hoenst), but never seem to get my act together in time, somethigns always going on ;).

we're from our camping/half trail marathon weekend, lots of fun, hurt my other ankle at the 10 mile mark this year, (yay :mad:), but managed to finish witha tiem I'll accept at around 3hours 40 minutes, pretty god for a 1500 and 5 k guy IMO (especialy for an over the hill, pudgey 30 year old who smokes :D). Anyway I don't carry a camera while i run btu rebecca took some shots of us camping and aroudn the area thought I'd share 'em

every year, we go camping Labor Day weekend. we do a "Thanksgiving". there are always about 5-6 other couples. a great time....

Is that a roast or Fried turkey? My sister ever since her move down south does a fried turkey. 45 minutes done and done!
 
going camping again thsi weekend, this time me the kids and grandma are going on a boyscout weekend, should be fun.
