Camping with sheeple and big Busse blades.

Like I and many others posted you are way too worried about what other people think. ;)

Just being around those types of people you will likely be around would creep me out........ Sheeples, Pansies, Wimps, Tree Huggers and other assorted unsavory types who really shouldn't be camping in the 1st place.

You really should be careful who you hang around in life. The wrong people can spread bad infections.

Getting a bad infection during a camping trip is a sure fire way to ruin what SHOULD be an enjoyable time.

I have an easy solution to keeping acquaintances from getting weirded out by the knife thing.

Camp on your own.

Problem solved.

Definatly watch who you hang around because before long you could be just like them if you don't watch it....

Horrors..... :barf:

They can take all of the PC crap and sell it someplace else because I am not buying.

OK there will be no PC here, I absolutely hate that concept. All I hear when somebody mentions PC is:Humorless, I'm holier then thou, condescending snobbery. So yeah I'm way ahead of most of you here when it comes to hating the PC.

But my philosophy in life is it is better to be a wolf in sheep's closing, then a rug or a proud stuffed wolf head on the wall. So I don't mind the sheep around me, and I always have something to eat.

Some time ago there was thread which asked what was the reason for your forum name. Let me repeat myself.
It means a wolf and, and I chose it because of an old saying:
"No matter how much you feed a wolf, he still looks to the forest."

I do have to admit though, in that crowd I often find myself uncomfortable, bored or out of place. But its a lot better then to sit alone at home. So while I've already have a somewhat a loner reputation, I think if I cut off all social contact with people like that, I'm just gonna forget how to communicate to people.

superfluities, I'm still trying to get my head around what you said. They do what? I can't figure out, how exactly they'd put spikes in was to kill the lumberjacks, I guess its some sort of booby-trap. Not the point, lets not go into any instructions here. No matter how or why, that makes me really angry. I hate PETA and all those bastards that fire bomb medical labs and destroy years of research and peoples jobs. But those that end up actually harming or killing another human being in order to get their point across, well I think this world isn't for them, and those are the people amongst few others that are meant for death sentence.

Volk,
Tree huggers in the past drove steel spikes into the area of a tree that would be cut using a chainsaw, usually hidden so as to cause harm the man using the chain saw, etc.

....I heard of ALF...hate those bastards with passion...I'm really trying to control my language here...and I don't want my threats to leave any trail...so, I'm gonna take a huge breath here, and try to calm myself, while I will say I hope they all are captured and given the maximum they can be given.

Wow, that got me really ticked off.

What really pissed me off is the number of seach results I got proclaiming what a great idea it was and the best ways to do it.:thumbdn::mad:

Battle Mistress all the way. You are camping right? How else are you going to prep food, chop up wood for fires or kill any savage beasts that may present themselves. If they get offended it may be time to find some new friends.

Tree spiking, a dubious tactic, only works if you notify/warn the logging community and the general public that a specific area HAS been spiked - otherwise, it's potentially an act of manslaughter/murder. And I wonder if the spikers ever pause to think about the damage/open avenue for disease and death they do to their (and mine) beloved trees?

And back to the topic: take a SAR-8 and a Culti to educate the others safely and sanely about REAL campcraft.

I think this thread is funny =]

For the most part yeah.
I like funny.

And once again my choice of knife is rather limited, I've pretty much decided that I'm gonna take the UG and the hatchet, unless somebody is willing to share. I think UG still looks mean, right?

If you aren't taking an ax, then I'd take a good-quality khukri (or a Battle Mistress) to bring out only when appropriate for chopping, along with a Bussekin in the 4 to 6 inch range for general carry. That sounds pretty much like what you decided on, except you're going with a hatchet. Some folks are suggesting more "in your face" behavior, which is fun if you don't have to consider consequences. However, as you said, many of these folks are friends, and you wouldn't want to offend them or put them in a position where they feel the need to make excuses for you. There's no reason that you can't both come prepared and have fun if you behave in a non-threatening way.

Your O.P. says you and your friends usually get 25 to 40 people to go camp.
Post #37 says only 2 of your friends are going, and they understand your knife thing. This means all this is about 2 friends, and offending 22 to 37 strangers/acquantances.
I am so confused. :D
Somebody needs a drink.

Yeah, basically few friends of mine invite everyone we know to go out of the city, so there would be 2-5 people I'd call anything close to friends there, and the rest are people we know. Those 2-5 people wouldn't give a damn, if I started prancing around naked, while covered in mud and cammo paint, with an ax in one hand and a cup of tea in the other while humming "na na nana nah Bat-maaaaaaaan!!!!" As for the others I don't really give a damn, but they are my social click I guess, who are coming to this trip only to get drunk and relax.

I wouldn't worry that much, but considering the number of times I was the center of attention at these things, well lets just hope they have something else to talk about then our last mass trip or the one a year and half ago. Thank god I was drunk and don't remember any of it.

And if I don't remember something that means it didn't happen, just like this post...here is to an early weekend!!!Cheers!
