Camping with sheeple and big Busse blades.

A screwdriver can also be used as a weapon, or a tire iron, a baseball bat...where does it end? Americans are losing freedoms everyday, it sickins me. Don't allow your rights to be stripped from you or you will be as naked and helpless as a newborn. Restriction Laws only affect those who abide by laws not criminals..it wont affect the amount of stabbings, what was quoted above is "dangerous" thinking. I don't live in Kali, but "they" can take my knife...IF they can take my knife.

I would leave all the knives at home and do all my wood harvesting with a SBR'd AR 15 with a 100 round beta mag.

I could just picture it......

Sorry mate, couldn't resist.

Here's an idea for you:

Bring the knife, but carry it in a pink or purple sheath and put hello kitty stickers on the blade. Sheeple are not afraid of sanrio. :p

I say you whip out your busse and and bathe it in Sheeple blood.....

hopefully I'll still agree with my suggestion after I've had my medication

In order of importance;
1) I'd move
2) Get new friends
3) Buy bigger Busses
4) Burn a GOOD stogie
5) Pour a double shot
6) Repeat 4 and 5 as needed
and NEVER Let the sheeple win

Sounds like the right thing to do.

HAHAHAHA!!! Fals work better you can cut bigger trees down with one very nicely, although its kind of a noisey process. Don't forget the headphones. :D :D

To the OP: It seems to me you are accepting of your friends' different outlook on life. More sheltered, protected, the gentle life, sheep if you will.
Why are you worried they will not do you the same courtesy? Accept you as YOU are?

I will never call a person who does not accept me as I am a friend (and I don't 'hide' my FBMLE from my friends). I wouldn't even accept them as acquaintances. If anyone doesn't like my knife- or gun passion, then that's their loss. Certainly not mine, anyway.

I kept that knife so minty safe for so long,O well,,,,Look at it this way, when your buddys are batoning starter wood you can be spliting logs, when you baton,,,Give her a wack for me

He said "TOOL":D:D

I missed the part about women being along and if your single and trying to score....

don't take the big ones...they might think you are trying to make up for something:D

and not realize the importance and power of such a big tool;):D

Sorry mate, couldn't resist.

I see Mike was laughing and so am I .... :D:D:D

Imagine being in Mike's position where you don't just need the one knife but a "back up" as well for when it breaks ... LOL .... now wearing ONE knife on a dangler sheath is bad enough .... but carrying them in pairs is going to raise a few eyebrows ...:D:D

Seriously I see what you mean about "carrying" but surely when you are not "carrying" you are allowed to still own the knife .... so keeping it in the car and wearing it openly only when you need it seems to be still "lawful".

Wearing it all the time would look a bit "funny" IMO .... unless ofcourse Mike turned up with his AR and "back up" system of knives .... ( I'm chuckling away here at the prospect as I type ) .... that would take the heat off you by quite a margin I reckon ....:D:D

i have to agree with Jaxx here, take something like the SAR8 (good camp knife) and be done with it, you will get to use it to build a fire or whatever else needs to be done. Plan another trip either with just guy friends or yourself to break out the big boys. Possibly bring a few smaller blades and whittle some stuff while sitting around the campfire at night, that is usually something fun for all to do.

Just do what you do man, leave the sheep back at camp. I lived in North East Kali and theres some rugged mountain guys up there, so you can't knock the whole state, but I do know where your coming from. Bring back a fish, hare, snake, or whatever else you manage to catch for food... and don't offer any to them and when they ask wtf, say you worry about you and I will worry about me. :D

Thats the other prob is that cali is too big and diverse....up north is crazy rural mountain land but then you have LA, Salinas, Oakland, and so on....maybe the answer is stricter county laws and not blanket state laws...

There is NO JUSTIFICATION for restricting tools from the people. There is NO JUSTIFICATION for STUPID blanket laws. Such laws are control without reason and a HUGE infringement upon freedoms.

Even if knives are viewed as weapons - and clearly they can be. These weapons can be for DEFENSIVE purposes.
I for one would be VERY upset to loose BOTH my ability to have, carry and use knives as tools AND my ability to have, carry and use WHATEVER I need for my defensive purposes - if the need should ever arise.

Same as guns. The KNIVES are NOT the problem. Knives don't kill. People kill.

I can't believe I read that! :grumpy:

If California or whatever area has a problem with people stabbing, gangs, etc. then maybe the voters in California need to VOTE to increase penalties on those committing the crimes rather than take tools and freedoms away from the inocent. Personally, I am QUITE fine with the death penalty.
If someone takes anothers life and sufficient evidence proves against the accused, don't WASTE my tax dollars on keeping them alive. Kill the POS.
Further, don't provide, food, shelter and other benifits to those who have committed such crimes. I get SICK of reading how prisoners get this and that and don't have to do this or that.... all on our tax money. I don't have money to spare for myself, yet alone to keep criminals and murders happy and healthy.

In the "end", you almost seem to be getting it. Blanket laws do NOT take weapons away from criminals. Such STUPID laws take TOOLS and even defensive weapons if so desired away from those who use them for valid reasons and maybe even for defensive purposes.

The criminals - By Definition - break laws. They WILL have weapons even if such weapons are not legal. DUH! And once stupid laws start taking guns and knives away from citizens, the criminals WILL have it THAT MUCH EASIER - without fear of being harmed when attacking defensless citizens.

Stupid blanket laws attempt to turn us ALL into Sheeple!!!! :thumbdn:

Cali has a huge problem!!! But you just dont understand until you're confronted with gang shootings and stabbings ALL the time. For example, how many gang stabbings in New Hampshire??....prob none. People carry knives and use them responsibly. They dont stab random store clerks in the neck for looking at them wrong. You are right. it is the people! but you cant discriminate against any certain groups and there is no way to fix this problem so im open for suggestions. You are not over run with mexican mafia like us. Cali has no money and they are saving money by letting these people out of jail early. there are no good options here. Maybe stricter penalties is the answer like in the movie Tombstone when Kurt Russell just starts shooting anyone wearing a red bandana. But this is also quite a liberal state and that will never happen...if you have a law that regulates knives then maybe it will prevent some stabbings. The hard core criminals are gonna do what they want regardless but those on the fence about it might leave their knife at home and actually use fists instead (like real men). i guess the counter point would be that those people would need to carry a knife to protect themselves from the criminals. Im not left or right wing (more in the middle) just wishing my million dollar 1 bedroom house wasnt situated near mexican gang central. i carry a legal taser all the time with me cuz thats legal and in some instances better for protection versus a knife.

actually in my county, you cannot drive with a screwdriver in reaching distance from the drivers seat because there are so many screwdriver stabbings...:barf: getting out of hand, i know..

Seriously, I'd go with a SAR-8 as "a camp knife" for batoning firewood and a Culti or GW for "field kitchen prep." These are reasonable, non-tactical choices that won't be offensive or threatening to most of the people I know (and I'm a former California theater director and weekend camper).
Enjoy!

Give people the right to self defense, with tools equal to those of the aggressor and suddenly scales are evened some and the man with an illegal gun is no longer at an advantage.

Honestly, how have the laws worked thus far restricting constitutional freedoms? No more gang shootings, right? No gun crimes in CA.... You can see where i'm going. Now you're talking about regulating knives on a knife forum? You can't just keep regulating and banning things because people have violent tendencies. Where does it end? Banning guns in England caused stabbings to rise, so they banned certain knives.. now we have people getting stabbed with bottles. If they ban bottles, it'll be bats, rocks, a bandanna with a cue ball in it. I could break someones neck pretty easy, should my hands be regulated? There needs to be a line drawn somewhere.

All the ridiculous laws in CA carry over from that communist hellhole of a state into the free united states, then the people who live in the bankrupt republic of CA move out to surrounding states because there are no jobs and pollute the rest of the country with their ridiculous ideology.

If there is a rise in Kukri attacks in CA are you going to turn in your Killa Zilla? For the children? Give them an inch and they'll take a mile.

I here where you are coming from and again this is a tough call. No, of course banning things hasnt stopped anything. it never will, but does it lessen it? It does sometimes. I am from New England like you 230. I dont buy into a lot of cali laws. But from living here for the last 6 years i have noticed just how different things can be here. Equaling the playing field, although it makes sense, isnt always the best answer. because the playing field of people isnt equal. mex gangs dont give a $hit about their futures. they will pull out their knife and stab you in the neck for looking at them wrong. they have nothing to lose. jail is a place where they can hang with their buddies and get three square meals a day. just the other day a man and his family went to a bowling alley in watsonville for fun. a 19y/o gang member made a comment about is wife and he stood up for her. then an hour later he got jumped in the bathroom and stabbed to death. that doesnt happen often in New hampshire or Tennessee, or other places. thats big city type crime. and its happening in more and more rural farming communities here. now regulation sounds terrible especially on a knife forum and you all know that i love my big choppers. i also love my guns. but parts of cali are turing into Mexico city. without any regulations, there will be bigger problems. Im not for knife regs everywhere, just in certain places. If you want your kids to grow up in a "cowboy" town, where there is a "high noon" showdown everyday then thats fine but i spent way to much to live here for that to be my daughters fate. so i know how it sounds when i say regulation but if you lived here you might see why there would be some good to come from it.

And i am a realist and understand that crime is crime and regs arent the solution to it but there has to be something out there. Yes, i would love to start hunting down gangs, vigilante style. I fantasize about it often;). but thats just not reality. I hope New England never suffers from the gang violence we see here. Do i think the majority suffers from reg laws?: yes. Do i think the minority of people abuse and kill?: yes But i wouldnt spout these "unconstitutional" regs if i didnt truly feel the problem was out of control. I am open to better solutions that dont punish people like me and you who would love to carry their SAR8 around and are responsible, but i have just seen a darker world over here. So when the police search you out here and find a knife and you are in a gang you go to jail. Now if the police could do nothing about it cuz it was legal to carry concealed weapons, then the small amount of control is lost. that small amount of regs maybe saves a life or maybe it doesnt. its not a perfect system, but its something.

Aside from you my large hog brother, most people dont carry a NMFBM under their jockeys.:D If you found a notorious gang member concealing a FBM and it was legal and could do nothing about it, you would prob be reading about a stabbing the next day. But if that person could be removed from the street just for carrying it, then it may save a life. And again i stress that it is not for everywhere just hardcore gang territories.

The heros are few and the villains are many out here:(

This is what I agree with here. ;)
