Can a switchblade be considered traditional ?

yes definitely. Don't worry Will, the mikov will be considered traditional some day. Be glad it's noisy!
A couple of the sounds that I really like
Are the sounds of a switchblade and a motorbike....LOL remembering that old song by Elton John

i dont think ive ever held one of those. is it one of the hidden button switchblades? Depress the houndstooth and out flies the blade?
That would be cool, but no. The button is visible in this picture. It's in the bolster area near the Schrade script. Opening mechanism is simple in components, but I think it's very interesting. It opens solid and quick, but not too hard. I have others that feel like they fire too hard. The GEC auto is perfect opening speed for me. A decade ago I watched a YouTube video that showed the opening process pretty well. I'm going to see if I can track it down and post it.

This should give you a good idea how the button works at least. There's another video I was thinking of that has better close-ups of the opening and closing mechanism that'll see if I can find...

Welp, can't find it... This is a worthy substitute because it has some of the fat stag GEC used to put out..and has the auto action.

Here is another one, Dave Sherman was the last superintendent of the Cattaraugus Cutlery Co before it closed its doors in the 1960's. This group shows a picture of him plus his timecard "E" pin and a knife that he owned. Knife is BUSINESS model made by Press Button Knife Co
