Can I speak of Non-Busse folders here?

I like 154 cm steel for folders. The only bad thing i've run into was on a benchmade 710 micro chipping.

Haven't had a problem with any of the other benchmade or emerson.

Chisel grind sharpening can be tricky. Sharpen one side, form a bur then strop it. Once the bur breaks off your done. I know you said before tanto point doesn't thrill you.

Good thing. cause sharpening them SUCKS!

The design of the point almost holding the full thickness of the blade is what helps the point stay strong. Thats what makes them work for me. I'm hard on points.

But the way Jerry does the point on say the NMSFNO. No point breaking on the sweet piece of steel.

Let us know what you get.

I dont dislike tanto blades... Its just that I have all the tanto I need...

The zero chisel is the way to go.
Go to school. :D

WITH MY FORCE ONE!!! :p

You know Jerry has been making fixed blades for a good long while and he is pretty great at it. So if he wants to stick with what he is great at and leave the folders to some other guys, I'm good with that too. Maybe he would rather put his time into research and development for better fixed blades. If he wants to do that, I'm behind him all the way, so if you don't like it, I guess you'll just have to wait two weeks... :-)

Nice, love the millie folders. Just got one of the new TI millies and it's got to be one of the best folders out there for the money.

I have owned many many folders over the years... Spydercos, Bucks, Benchmades, Striders, Sebenzas, etc...
Anyway... a knife that I think is very often overlooked is the Benchmade HK Snoody folder. For me anyway, it offers the best bang for the buck out there. Very solid lockup, good steel, Axis, great blade shape, great handle, pocket clip, etc etc. There were a few modifications I did to mine to make it ideal (sanded down some of the sharper edges- I will post pics at some point). Anyway, worth looking into...

And they can be found for even less on ebay and other online outlets. And on top of that, come in a really wicked tanto version as well if thats your cup of tea.

It depends. I EDC a Spyderco Military.. It's a great slicer, but i've already had to reshape the tip twice after blunting it a couple times. If you ever use a folder for anything besides slicing, this is not the knife for you. The tip will break off without a moments notice. It's very fine and very pointy. I'd also like to point for those of used to the Bussekin warranty, spydercos warranty sucks. Jump on me all you want, but i've broken many spydercos in my life and the fact remains, once they're broken, they're broken. You can't even buy a new blade. I've had this Millie in my pocket for a couple months now, not broken yet, just scratched all to hell. It's the best "slicer" i've had in a folder, which is why I carry it. I'm still waiting for the Busse folder!

Well... I just pulled the trigger on a ZT 0300. Seemed like the most knife for a very good price.

I just hope that when a Busse folder does come out, it's not ghey... ;)

Good choice, for the money you can't beat it and it's extremely strong and very tough.

If you have seen my video on the 0301, here is how tough it really is. :D

VERY few folders can get through this in one piece. ;)

I think so. A few others wowed me with reputation and design but were just out of reach. The ZT takes cues and design from some very good knife makers. Good deployment, good lock up... stout as hell... so...

Yeah, you have to spend a lot more to get one stronger etc.

Strider and Hinderer are the two that I can think of.

I would put CR in there but his warranty isn't unconditional like Striders is and for the money they cost it really should be IMO.

I don't like over built folders myself. Nothing wrong with them, I just never seem to put one in pocket because of weight.

My sebenza's, spyderco's, slipjoints, and a couple of thin bladed handmades are all I need in a folder.

Guys... I'm telling ya... 3.5" blade in a 2.8oz folder. Check out the Black Bear Knives Folders. ;)

I've heard you mention these enough that I just now googled them Rolf.

And all I found was some fixed blade high end Cold Steels:grumpy:
:p

Do you have a link, or pic of the folder?
