"Can I use your knife?"

"Please sign this waiver, stating that you agree to losses or damages resulting in (but not limited to)..."

Good one...

I used to just say "sure" and hand it over... until one knife (a production fixed blade) came back with no handle... guy apologised but was totally nonchelant about it... another time I turned around in time to watch the guy beating on the spine with a waffle face framing hammer trying to seperate plywood laminations...

No more assuming people aren't idiots...
"What for?" is the current, very skeptical, response.

"This knife? Whatever it is doesn't need to be cut with this knife!"

The only way you're gunna use my knife is if I can stab you... Well?

Use to let folks use it. Learned the hard way. Now it's a flat out "no."

Hate to do it but no more snapped off tips.....no more destroyed and chipped edges.....no more watching folks about to slice their fingers off, etc. Anyone who doesn't or won't carry a knife deserves to use their keys as slicing tools. Truth be told it's safer for them to use their keys.

Got a Gerber EAB Lite I carry in my coin pocket just for this scenario (and as a backup blade as well). Folds up tiny, cost $10, utility blades are replaceable and cheap (should someone damage it) and has no bells or whistles to confuse people.

I'll be keeping my ZT0450 in my own hands, thanks.
