i want a benchmade, because it seems like they have high quality, good steel and that the AXIS lock is good.

so could you recommend a benchmade folding knife with AXIS lock, hopefully no serrations. I'm open for most kind of blade styles. and a size like the SOG flash 2 suits me well. I don't mind if it's heavy. it'd be nice with a popular benchmade so custom parts may be available.

Any one of them.
Have a few and they don't disappoint. They have a decent choice of blade shapes/styles and blade steel. Just choose what you like, not likely you would regret it.

Browse their website by lock type and pick something that grabs your attention. You will be the one carrying it and using it, it would be better to zero in on a model and try it out for yourself. My recommendation is the minigrip.

For what it's worth the 710 is their flagship axis lock knife. I prefer the 940 or 943 though.

Anything from the Griptilian line is a good one to start with just to get a feel for the Axis lock.

710 - the first and IMO arguably still the best if you had to pick just one. The Mini-Grip will surprise you. It feels very different in every respect than the full sized Grip.

I recommend the Mini Grip too. Oddly enough, I like mine better than the other Axis Lock models I have owned. They are all nice but there is just something about the Mini Grip.

There are aftermarket scales you can buy for them if you want to customize. Can't for the life of me remember what the scales are called but they are very cool.

I believe the scales are Noryl GTX.

Edit - Oops, I guess that you meant the name of the after-market scales. :o

I have been looking at the Benchmades also and am trying to convince myself to pull the trigger on a mini Griptillian...

I have always enjoyed the mini-grip as well. So much in fact that I felt it worth some custom grips!

That's the best looking mini-grip I've yet to see. I like that it's slimmed down. The main thing that always turned me off about the griptilian series was how fat the grips were.

Oh and I own a 710 and really like it. Good size, great ergos, fun to flick thanks to the axis. Blade has a slight recurve which may turn some people off but I think it just adds to the uniqueness of it. Fantastic EDC knife.
