can you recomend a single benchmade with AXIS lock?

+1 On the Mini-Grip, especially with custom scales. Great knife

sounds like mini bone collector is a good fit.

Exactly what I was going to suggest, except I was going to say large.

I've heard a lot of people complain about the handle material on the Grips feeling cheap, I've never owned one, and how the BC series is close in size and design to the Grips, but with sculpted G-10 handles, and it has D2 blade steel. Benchmade does an excellent job with sculpting G-10, and with the HT on D2. It is my conviction that the BC folders have slipped under the radar with some folks and that it is one BM's real gems!

A pic of mine, large w/green-black G-10, and a deep-carry, foldover pocket clip from usaknifemaker.com.

I didn't say they were good pictures!;):)

The Bone Collector knives are very good as well. Here's a pic of my Mini Bone Collector. I modified it a bit but even without the mod it's a hell of a knife

Sweet! Did you grind down the blade or did you have it done? I like the clip on thumbstuds, do they work well?

Hey Scott, nice Rift! I have a couple of those, one manual, and the other is axis-auto. Very nice knives.

As I said in my post, I think the BC folders often are overlooked, when in fact they are a very nice, and usable edc knife.

Sorta hard to tell in my crappy pics, but I slightly modified the tip on mine by grinding the clip portion of the blade flat. You have to be very careful in any blade grind to keep it cool by having a container of water to did it in every few seconds. Takes longer, but doesn't ruin the heat treat. Get a straw colored mark on the tip, then most likely you have done harm to the HT.

710 all the way. Its easily my favorite benchmade. Its the size i like for an EDC knife, and very fast/smooth to open. Its the only knife i have with D2 steel but i like it alot. You might hear that its difficult to sharpen, but i really havent had any problems sharpening it, and i am by no means an expert sharpener. It might take a few more passes on the stone than 154cm but its not bad. I also really like the "S" curve edge on it. Works awesome on rope.

I've owned about a dozen BM axis lock folders. As my collection has befome very focused with what I consider a couple or so of their best peices - for Benchmade I have kept (and love) my 710 D2 and 950 Osborne S30V. Very nice and deploy like automatic knives. One large and one smaller BM. :)

You can't lose with either of these two - it would depend on your size requirement.

Hmm a 950 in S30V?

That was a typo, 940 of course...:) I think about as nearly right as a manual folder can be. I'd have suggested a cooler split arrow clip or something less obtrusive in the clippage dept. But at 3.4" S30V bladed, 4.4" closed, 2.90 oz weight, axis lock, ambidextrous action & cliippage, with dual thumb studs. That's ia lot of goodness in one package.

I absolutely love my Onslaught! If you don't mind a bigger blade theres nothing better. The mini Onslaught looks pretty awesome as well.

Been carrying a BM 940 for over 10 years now. Aside from sharpening and having to blow carry lint out of it, never had a problem with it, still don't.

I like the Mini Grip so much that it became my wife's edc. Her's is pink, of course....damned pink gun, pink knives, everything is either pink or Tiffany's with her. If a knife company ever does a collaboration with Tiffany's, I might as well sell a kidney.

I love my Harley Davidson Mini Hard Tail! Its the only Benchmade I axis lock I own! The D2 blade is done right. Its a great performer and looker.

Edlex, you are correct... I edc'd my mini grip untill i went out shoppin and come home with a mini onslaught.. by far my personal favorite from benchmade out of the near dozen ive held.. But for practicality and pure use... the mini grip is #1 in my book for edc

UPS just dropped a Rift off at my house 2 hours ago. My first impression are that it is astonishingly good! :D
