can you recomend a single benchmade with AXIS lock?

Love my 710 and am thinking of the Griptilian too. Both of these blades have a big following.

I believe that a Doug Ritter griptilian with Kevin Wilkins scales is the best Benchmade a man can have!

Yeah, for a mere $200 (ish) in addtion, you too can have a flatter $65 Griptilian. I think it's a sucker's fix. YMMV

I may well be in the minority here, but I don't like the mini-grip's. The grip size is just too small for me, as a matter of fact, I just gave the one I bought on the forums last week to one of my best friends for his birthday. I now have no Benchmade to carry, but I have ordered a BM 710 in M390 and a 530-901 in S30V from knifeworks, and bought a 581 Barrage in M390 from here on the forums, the 581 is on the way, the 710 is being engraved, as it is a birthday present from my wife and will not be leaving for a new home, and the 530 is just for kicks and giggles... If I like the 710, I may pick up another in D2 to complement it, if not it will assume safe-queen status, but from everything I have read, it may well be my new favorite EDC knife.

710, 940, 805, 806. Those are my absolute favorites, and you cannot go wrong with any of them. All of them offer a ton of extremely useful blade with a very comfortable grip with an excellent blade-to-weight ratio. If I had to recommend a single one, as you requested, I'd vote for the 710. It's definitely a "carry it for the next 10-20 years"-type knife.

I had a 555 (oval hole, thank you very much), but gave it to my wife as she seemed to like it a lot more than me. The 440c is excellent, as is the blade shape and edge. However, I absolutely cannot stand the handles on any of the standard Grips. They feel cheap, flimsy, and bulky to me. I'm surprised that these custom scale configurations that are starting to pop up online haven't become a factory revision -- I suppose they're not really "Griptilians" once you take away those handles, but bleh... no thanks.

I feel exactly the same way. I love the construction quality, blade material and the AXIS lock. However, some of the plastic handle material... bweh. I own an 580 Barrage, great knife, but looks and feels plasticy. I would probably never buy a Griptillian (which, I think, has similar handles, or am I wrong?)

I am considering a 710 or a 940. Do the handles on those knives look and feel better? Also, since the 710 is the first Benchmade with an AXIS lock, does it work as well as on their later models?

the 943 is my favorite BM by far. the 940 is great too but i love the 943 blade shape more.
