Cant decide on my first full size becker..

Im about to blow a chunck of my Christmas bonus and finally get a full size becker. Cant decide between 5 7 9. I know I'll end up with all three at some point but cant decide on which on is first. I've been in love with the 5 since i saw it but the same can be said for the 7...and who wouldn't want to own the 9. So... Any thoughts?

Just buy'em all, JKD, well everything depends the use you're planning for them, every single one is perfect for the task that was made for.
 
Depends on which tasks you're most likely working on.

The BK5 is soon to be rare/exclusive
And gives +1 agility and a slicing bonus with a critical hit.

The 7 gives +1 dexterity, +2% chance to crit when stabbing and 3% damage bonus, adds +1 to chopping and bushcraft skills

BK9 has +3 strength, +1 dexterity and agility bonus with small tasks, +5% chance for a critical hit and +10% damage bonus if you crit when chopping.

Right now you can get them all from NPCs or vendors, soon the 5 will only be able to be traded from other players

Get the 9 !

I First got the 10, like it, great 5-6" knife

Then the 5, saving it, light use, and eating steaks

Then the 9,,, yeah buddy! . Got it for batoning fire wood, but it is awsome, chopping etc. I've been using it alot. Its just bitchin'
 
I know i will end up with a 9 and 16 sooner or later. Right now im looking for a main carry blade between 6-8 inch. This is to replace the old mk 1 i carry. It was my grandfather's army issue from his time in Korea, not sure if it was issued or bought just that its what he carried. I think the 9 is going to be to large to carry like that. Im thinking the 9 will be strapped to my pack to replace the small machete. So im guessing it really comes down to the 5 or 7 for now. Leaning towards the 5 since its about to be harder to get a hold of.

Haha, as a former MMORPGer I found this to be a Fantastic answer and I could see how it all fit too...

I would go 5 and 4 since you Might be able to find them both for near the price of a 9. How can you go wrong with Two for one Beckers?!?

Keep in mind the 4, 5 and 15 are going the way of the dodo.
 
How well does the 5 chop and baton? Im also wanting to get a kydex sheath and g10 scales..been looking at TKC for the scales. Any body here order scales from them and if so how do they feel? Thanks for the help guys. Got a bk 11 last week and now im hooked..lol.
 
I'd say go with the 5 only because it is being discontinued and is a really cool blade.

Otherwise I'm a 9 guy all the way absolutely love mine.

Haha, thanks. Yeah, I ripped away from Final Fantasy XI after 5 years about 3 yrs ago...getting the Jones lately...


Although I haven't beat the snot out of my 5, there's tons of reports on it being much more than a food Knife.
Research a bit more, you may be surprised.
 
Get the 5.

$60 just about everywhere.

It's a decent chopper and, though the swedged spine will be a bit tough on a baton, it will work. Last year someone posted a chop-off and the 5 finished a close 3rd to the 4 and 9.

But the 9 *is* the King.
 
I love my first Becker. It is a 7. But started using the 9 and now it seems to have proven why it is the king.

The 5, 15, and 4 are all being discontinued. Seems to be plenty of stock at the moment of 4 and 5, but the 15 is not even on the Ka-Bar website anymore. Looks like the Johnson Adventure line is in the same boat. There's no way to know exactly when they'll become "unavailable" due to all the vendors stock. This has been known to me for about a year now, probably been longer.

This made me so happy, bravo! My game night is tonight lol.

The 5 is great, and if it's on the way out, grab it.
Other wise, get the 10. Love the 10. Like the 2 but slicier, and choppy.
