Can't think of a clever SNARK thread title, Snark thread.

don't you mean 'a bits of this' and 'a bits of that'?

we could have a little axe fight, but there isn't enough light in here for pictures, so I lose.

Its been a while since I checked Steyr out. The Steyr S40-A1 & S9-A1 just made the short list.

Oh trust me! That is NOT an issue! I have a cabin rented for 3 days, I also have some other stuff lined up. It's going to be a GOOD break, and then ten days after that I'm going to Chicago for the weekend, for the the Boat show. Then a month after that going to Chicago again for the car show which is going to be EPIC because I'm going to be taking Matt and Beth and Miss with too. So one day at the auto show and 3 days in Chicago with my 3 favorite friends.

Boats boats boats!!!

That's what I was thinking, I have a little experience with 1911's. My dad has a colt gold cup model.

He carried a 1911 every day while in Vietnam, so he's showed me how to field strip and clean it, and you're right, it is a complicated weapon

My dad carried one when he was in the USMC in the 70's and he wasn't to impressed at the time. Thing is, the US military had acquired so many 1911's in WWII that they never needed to buy any more all the way up until it was replaced by the M9 Beretta in 1985. So they were pretty worn out by then, not to mention the original sights just weren't great to begin with. After I explained that to him he ended up checking out new 1911's an now has a really nice stainless Sig 1911. I particularly like the undercut trigger guard on his and plan to have that done to my SA Operator.

I equate the 1911 to an old muscle car, a little more expensive to buy and maintain, may need a little work to get running reliably right off the bat but they have style and class and that cool factor. The plastic fantasitics are more like a Corolla or something. Boring and plain but they are very reliable and last a long time.

You don't see a lot of plastic pistols at the 50yd line in NRA bullseye matches in the .45 class...

Just like you don't see many Toyotas at the drag strip. Then again, you don't see many people driving drag racers to work.

Jesus guys, I just got broken by a killer judo throw tonight, can't move my neck or hold my head up. Head to be driven home.

Can't sleep so snark time it is..

Sure do see a lotta civics though.

Yeah, losing. :D

Came across some videos about tuning and slicking up the action and trigger on a Mosin Nagant. Might take a crack at my M44 this weekend. The trigger is actually pretty light for a Mosin but the action could use a little work to make it cycle smooth.

They do, it's called "defection".

Believe me... I look at the job posting boards for my company all the time. Seeing if a similar position to mine opens up on the other side of the boarder ;)

Technically speaking, I can EDC a firearm. It just has to be classified as 'non restricted' and be unloaded(my shotgun with pistol grip has come with me a few places before). Ammunition has to be stored separate from the firearm (in a pocket). The only downside to this is 'creating a public disturbance' is illegal lol. You mention the word 'gun' up here and people get uptight. Its also a little difficult to conceal something with an 18.5' barrel comfortably. Its one of those things that is best to be kept in your car with your shtf bag :D

Got some bad news last night from my girlfriends brother. He has been diagnosed with stage 3 lung cancer. He finds out today what exactly is going to happen with treatment and whether or not it has spread anywhere else. He could use some smoke and prayers today and in the future.
