Getting better at this leather thing, hopefully santa brings me some leatherworking tools since I dont have any!

Thanks trade, I did all the beveling and stitching and hole punching by hand. I dont even own a sander or a drill press, harbor freight here I come.

Considering they are dachshunds they are sold in halves so you just buy 3.

Ah.

So I'm looking for a new job. The headsheads where I work have their heads so far up their asses they couldn't see the light of day if they were standing on the surface of the sun with a telescope. And on a fairly regular basis they barf up some ridiculously stupid idea that only serves to crush morale and then they wonder why turnover is so high.

Have two applications in right now, one for a power plant operator trainee and one for a maintenance worker at Grand Canyon National Park. I have a lot more searching to do though. I could easily end up with a dozen applications or more in all over the country.

Good luck, 'hoss - some organizations are un-fixable, except with distance!

The most delicious of insanities.

Damn. I was hoping for something new and exciting. Oh well, SHOT is next month.

Does puppy hide make for a good sheath?

Sure. They smell good too.

Until it Rains, ever smell a wet dog? Besides, when it isn't raining, you'll draw ticks to yourself carrying a sheath like that. Better wear a dog flea and tick collar to be safe. :D

Good luck bigghoss.

I have been considering a change of scenery as well.

Good luck with the job hunt bigghoss, T.M.Hunt custom knives is opening up a apprenticeship. Of coarse the pay sucks, the boss is a dick, and the commute would be hell. But, just thought id offer.

In other news for anybody here that listens to the Knife Journal podcast. The latest episode #61 is now up and features a interview with myself and Murph. Had a lot of fun talking with Kyle and Jim. If you havnt yet, you ought to check them out.

Nick- Good luck on the exam.
Hoss- Good luck on the search.
Trade- Good luck on the kill.

Man i was like a kid in a candy store in there. WAY too many options in that place. It would take me an hour at least to go through that place, but since the wife and kids were waiting in the car i had to hurry it up... So i barely got to check the place out. But i will be returning.

The best actually!! The young skin properly tanned, and stiched with unicorn mane makes an indestructible sheath.

Looks good!!

What's the back look like?

Too dark to take a picture now, the back is nothing special, just folded over and stitched in a square. I will hopefully have a stitching groover soon, I did everything on that one free hand including the holes.

Halfway through first bottle. Love it!!!!!!!!! Its a great beer!! I can only barely taste the peanut notes in it though. To me it taste similar to a chocolate coffee. But it goes down smooth and leaves a nice flavor in the mouth. One of the best beers i have tried. I can drink it VERY fast... which is good and bad, bad because it aint cheap.

The wife likes it as well. Says it would make a great beer to sip on in between shots, nice flavor and easy on the tongue. Not very carbonated at all either.

Use your needle as a guide by holding it in your fingers with the tip touching the leather and with other fingers against the edge run the needle point along the length to be stitched. That will give you a guide to follow when your stitching.

If you want I can make a short video on what I'm talking about. :)

Loading my new strop up with DMT 6 micron diamond paste. Its soaking it up like a junkie on heroin. I want to try balsa wood in the future too.

The strop is awesome though. The guy did a fantastic job making it. The wood looks excellent and the .45 cal casings in the wood and stag on the lanyard just look sweet. The felt on the reverse side is a nice touch too. Although its so so so soft... Not sure how much of a difference it will make.

Finished the first bottle. Got a little bit of a buzz too.... Im surprised. I dont normally get buzzed from 1 beer. Then again the beer i normally drink isnt 8% alcohol -OR- 22 OZ either LOL
