Canvas vs. G10

I think its pretty hard to beat res-c for big knives and as for G10 I love the colour variation. It makes it so much more fun to look at!

i like g10 because of appearance and it is more bomb proof to various fluids. that said, most of the choppers have handles that do the gripping. I suppose you could always put grip tape over the tang part and it wouldn't change the side shot appearance.

I love g10! The oils on your hands make micarta look very different and yes, you can wash them but with g10 you can always just wipe it off.

Even though canvas micarta is a little "rougher", to me G10 feels grippier when wet, especially after a quick once over with a bead blaster. Kinda hard to explain but it reminds me of an ultra fine wet/dry sandpaper.

I'm going to snag some black and orange g10 for my SHe. I like the subtle fades from black to tan on the stock photo. The tan and orange have the most contrast between themselves and black, showing off the machining. I'll get either tan or orange.... Hard to decide. Ok orange. It's what I had on my first BUSSE.

I was on the fence too with the tan but went with the green on the SHe2....now I have a couple more G10 colors I want to get....oh man I'm in trouble! Just opened the hogs Pandora's box with ordering G10! :D ....now I'm wondering what's up for next week!

I did Black and Tan and it's gonna go in the case with the new rifle that is distressed FDE

If you are going to use it frequently, Canvas will be easier on your hands, Canvas will also weigh less! Canvas will not look as pretty and will change colors, either will serve you well, keep in mind when it gets cold G10 will feel like an ice cube, Canvas will still have a warm feeling

I like micarta as a versatile and functional product, it is also SIGNIFICANTLY cheaper when buying new. I MUCH prefer G10 on all my blades no matter size, though it is cost prohibitive (vs gain) in many cases so I probably have a 70/30 (advantage canvas micarta) across the fleet... ;) .

I've never had Busse g10, but I've had other g10 fixed blade handles. The Black Paper Micarta I got on the SOBCG seems like a nice middle ground between canvas micarta and g10.

Black Paper in my opinion is the smoothest and best looking of all materials offered, I guess Busse quit offering them because of supply and demand, My NMFSH has Black Paper handles and it feels nicer than either canvas or G10, Canvas can stain but all that is needed is a quick washing with Soap and water, I like both G10 for appearance and Canvas as a HARD use Knife

At first, I thought the g10 looked a bit plastic like, but upon beating wood (even in rain), it grips very well.
I like it, to the point I had to have others in the same handle...

Wow!... those are beauties...I'm definitely going with a few more G10 color combos if some of the (need to have) blades pop up!:D

Here is my Gladius with pumpkin

I wish Cerekote was an option all the time because I think an antique bronze would look awesome paired with this one
