Car Wreck

Andy, I'm so glad that you and your family are ok. Sounds like a miracle. Don't agree to any settlement until you are ABSOLUTELY sure that there are no injuries. They can take time to show up sometimes. Just assume that the other guys insurance company is trying to get away with the least cost by saying or doing anything.

Take care bud,
Steve

Andy,
Glad to hear that you and yours are ok bro...Car wrecks cause problems that might not come to light for a few months...

If ya need something holla at me!

My wife was a moving metal magnet for awhile. Lucky you and thank the stars everyone is OK!!!

Say, Andy, What do you do for an encore? Can you flip it end for end and land on the wheels? All kidding aside, I'm sure glad that you and yours are O.K.

Glad things weren't worse.

IMHO, it's always worth the hassle to file an accident report, even if you are at fault. That way, you only have to take responsibility for what actually happened, not what someone tries to extort out of you later. It's also an essential bargaining chip if they try to weasel out of something. Adrenaline is also running high just after the accident, and more damage/injury may be apparent when things calm down.

Funny - I tested my airbags once and walked away unscathed. The steering wheel plastic whacked me in the hand, but otherwise nothing. Maybe the long arms help.

I appreciate all you guys support. I really wish I had seen the guy and none of this had happened.

I took pics of the truck this evening on my phone. I'll have to figure out how to get them off of there. The truck doesn't look nearly as bad as his car did though....

It is certainly much better to replace the two tires at the same time . Actually all four tires should be identical models with Identical wear . Thats the main reason we rotate our tires .First mention that the two have to be replaced so the wear pattern is the same . Then say actually it is recomended that all four are identical so the wear pattern will be the same . Let them hem and haw for a while and let them offer to just change the two on the same axle .

Like has been said a professional negotiator will do a better job . As long as they are on your side . make sure you let them know what you expect .

I'm glad to hear that you and your family are ok, Andy. The title "Car wreck" is never a good sign.

Glad everyone's ok and it won't be too complicated!

Good job Andy.

Out here you would count yourself even more lucky if the driver was insured or spoke English; usually they just keep repeating "no se" while they drive off.

I was rear ended a few years ago and the lady came leaping out of her car exclaiming "Well, I don't have insurance!" as if that ended all conversation. She didn't and I thought I was hosed, until I found out that my wife had wisely gotten us uninsured motorist coverage. Of course she got away with it scot free, but at least I got my bumper fixed.

Andy the Great Mystery was looking out for you and your family. :D
And by all means listen to Bill and take and use his advice and you won't go wrong. And you might get a helluva lot more out of the accident than you ever imagined.;)

aproy1101, I'm glad to hear your Ok and not worse for wear. This must be the season. Thurs, the 21st, I was on my was home from the store with a backseat full of cold groceries driving on the freeway when I noticed a large amount of foam cups in the roadway, I slowed down, about 5mph, to about 55mph and got crushed from behind by another vehicle. Limped to the side of the road and the other driver did too. The other driver, an older asian woman, refused to give me her Drivers license and insurance, insisting I just provide a phone number and she would pay for the damages. Sher said she did'nt want her insurance to go up and said she did'nt have much damage to her vehicle..GREAT!!! My car is wrecked and yours is OK, that really makes me feel better. Finally got the CHP there and she insisted a report not be taken, even though I requested one and was injured...Yikes, what a nightmare. Finally she provided her info and I gave her mine. She looked at my area code and saw that it was different that hers, the area we were in, and she states "Why are you driving here!"
AGGGGHHHHHgghhhhhh!!!!! it just was unbelievable...The next day I reported it to her insurance company and they said they needed to et ahold of her...later they called back and said that her story was that I cut her off and slammed on my brakes...it just does'nt ever end...so we are still dealing with this..I hope yours goes smother than this has so far....

Glad nobody was seriously hurt. I hope nothing crops up during the next several days. Sometimes soft tissue injuries and whatnot take a while to let you know they are there.

If anyone has whiplash, go see a doctor pronto. It will help you.
There are more body shops here in Illinois than churches in the south - for a good reason.

People here think that red lights are for running.

I assume that people will run lights when I visit Bloomingon, IL.

The students there seem to think that red means go!

Man JG that is BS. If this situation were like that one I'd have had a lawyer before I left the scene. As it is I may have to get one anyway. I don't sepeak enough legaleese to disipher her wads and wads of paperwork she's been sending me....

I'm glad to hear that you and your are ok andy. Whatch your back out there guys (and your passenger side like andy)
