Carbon Fiber, Composite Blade, 0560.

Man, ZT is swinging a pretty big dick this year. Congrats Thomas. I mean, hit after hit after hit. You got more hits than Casey Kasem.

So are we gonna see ZT moving into a mid tech type position now? Or are some excellent cheapies coming our way also?

I'm unsure. Zero Tolerance is still a young brand. We're trying to find ourselves both here at the factory, and in the marketplace. I do feel there is a next generation of products that we are in the middle of now. They are doing very well, everyone is happy. We continue to want to branch out design wise, price point wise. I see ZT in the $150- $400 range. Occasionally branching out a bit further. Feel we can compete. Over the next 2-3 years we want to expand the breath of the line. More choices, options. We'll get there.

Hope that helps.

I think this is a great path to explore. I suspect the knife enthusiast community is probably a small portion of knives sold world wide but minority or not, we have money to spend or at least find a way to buy the better knives that pique our interests and suit our needs. And it's pretty normal for some casual buyers to get the bug like all of us did at one time in our knife life. So this price range will probaly continue to grow because it's hard to go back, if not impossible, once one gets to this price and quality point.

Speaking for myself, the $150 to $600 range is exactly where I am and plan to be for my remaining future. I have a lot of knives yet to buy in this price range and I hope a lot of them are ZT's.

I'm looking forward to KAI's ideas coming to fruition. And IMHO, you guys already compete with more expensive knives. I'm proof of that . . .

I want one bad... I am only concerned about price. The TILT retailed at $350, it too had CF, Ti framelock, and composite blade. Hopefully the Retail will stay close to that, and street price much lower...........

I really hope that there will be plenty of these to go around.

I think it should be cheaper than the Tilt, unless they just gee us a super good deal for the Tilts. It has the wire EDM cut lock, which had to be mounted and cut individually. This is a 0560 variant, so the process should be more streamlined, which hopefully turns out to mean more made at a cheaper price. I think the only limitation will be how much S110V is available.

the next few years should be exciting for ZT..seems like they have really identified what style of designs customers are after and are now in the process of designing and collaborating. the direction of moving toward high tech processes and machinery has opened up a world of possibilities for badass knives.

looking forward to the in house design which we haven't seen yet :)

I would really really love to see those scales offered as an aftermarket upgrade. I know Rick is planning on making some but I had hoped he would have released them all ready.

I don't think so.

I dont really see a reason why it would be cheaper anyways. Plus you dont want to undervalue the product. Sometimes selling something too cheap is just as damning as selling it for too much. Dont get me wrong I like a good deal but pricing too low I think actually turns a lot of customers off. Would you say thats true?

Uh oh, I hope the price isn't super high or I won't be able to swing it. Thomas, after the knife announcement at Blade show, will the estimated retail price be made known?

I see what your saying, a little higher than Tilt would be do-able, I think I paid 270ish for my SW tilt. Hopefully not too much more....:o

It makes the S110V Shallots seem like a steal at well under 100! And they are full S110V not a composite.

It's worth whatever premium over the 0560 it turns out to be.

Let's bear in mind that a standard 0560 costs around $260 or so from most online stores and when tilts came out, they cost around $40 less.

This is a really hopeful comment for me. Up until the 560 was released, I really had not been interested in ZT's offerings. Everything has been too overbuilt IMHO (YMMV). The 560 changed that. It is still overbuilt to a degree, but it does not emphasize that characteristic so much. The 560 emphasizes more of a high tech/ manufacturing characteristic that I like -with the aggressively milled liners, the bearing system, and the 3D machined Ti and G-10 -all coming together into a very useable package. This is a direction my money will follow (and from some of the sneak peak pictures from thomas, it seems ZT is heading that way).

To put it in traditional terms, I see ZT's offerings to be mostly like modern Buck 301's, whereas the 560 is a fine tuned split back whittler from the elder days.:D
