• Happy Thanksgiving to all of you! I hope that you all have something to be grateful for this year and for many years to come
  • America has reached 250 years, and I am grateful to be here, in the best country in the world. Thank every one of you who helps make this country a better place, those who have gone before and risked it all, and those who've paid the ultimate price to make the United States what we are today.

Happy Birthday America! Let Freedom Ring for all time!

About a month ago, a friend of mine, who is getting married this Saturday, told me he was having a new waistcoat made, and suggested I get one made too. So, a week or so later, we went to be measured. A week after that we went for a fitting. The tailor works from home, and lives in a rather awkward place to get to, so each visit cost me half a day's work. We went to pick up our waistcoats today. I had asked for one in a charcoal tweed, full back, 4 pockets, and notched lapels, and it was exactly what I had asked for - except it is a good 4 inches short at the front (and a bit tight in the chest)! My friend, who had recommended the tailor, was mortified, and demanded it be replaced. Fortunately, his waistcoat (which I paid for too) fitted, as he is the one getting married after all. There's no time for me to get another made before Saturday, and I don't think I fancy another three half-days off work, darn thing has cost me enough already. Think I'll get one off the peg next time, so much for 'made-to-measure' o_O

I'd have been VERY worried if he'd measured my inside leg for a waistcoat! :D

Sometimes, factory made knives ARE better than Custom too ;):D:D

Yeah, perhaps that's the solution Dave, I'll just pull my trousers up to my chest! o_O

You can tell he's a criminal type.....he's buttoned up the last button on his waistcoat:eek::eek: Cad!:D

Yep, those cheek-bones could inflict some serious damage!

It has been quite popular, but personally I thought Peaky Blinders was awful, and Cillian Murphy hopelessly miscast

That'll do it! :p:D

LOL! :D I'm definitely with the old guys on that! :D

Yes, I've seen it on telly here, stilted and artificial I thought.

BUT some very cool caps and clothes on view :D:D:thumbsup:

Apparently there are Peaky Blinders nights in a few well-heeled parts of the country, where the chattering classes can safely pretend to be well-dressed scumbags for the evening  Probably more realistic than the thought of skinny pretty-boy Tommy Shelby storming German trenches! :D
