"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Alright I'm back from my shopping trip I looked at both Hickory Hill and Sack Ups knife rolls and found them at two different Knife Stores but at least they were both BF registered dealers because I bought one of each oh yea I bought a Case Peanut and a Case medium Stockman too.:rolleyes:
The Hickory Hill from GPKnives and the Sack Ups from Blade HQ both had very good prices.
These are their pictures from the ads.

Both are great in different ways, Randy. I hope and think you will be pleased with both of them. It's just that you would need a lot of Sack-ups for all those Barlows, my friend.
What Peanut and Stockman did you get?

DelOro DelOro it is warm enough to grill some pork chops outside today, I was sorely tempted.

Grilled Pork Chops :thumbsup::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Figures & Facts from Mrs. Oro's family almanac! :D

A traditional southern dinner tonight for New Year’s:

1) Black Eyed Peas (which represent pennies or health)

2) Corn Bread (which represents gold or good fortune)

3) Pork Chops (which represents progress since pigs move their snouts in a forward motion while eating)

4) Brown Rice (from a 90 year old family mill in Vicksburg, Mississippi aka Mrs.Oro's Hometown)

P.S. You should avoid beef because cows stand still and you don’t want your life to be stagnant and also avoid chicken because they scratch backwards and you don’t want your life going in reverse.

All I know is that it tastes great and I always appreciate her cooking everything! :)

The Cat fancies it a lot too:D

Isn't it funny WP how our pets get to "sample" our foods regardless of the foods cost or rarity. My granddaughter has a pit bull about one year old that's a big baby and I kept her a few days awhile back. During Nyla's visit I had cooked myself a nice rib eye steak that came from our local butcher shop and cost about $15.
Nyla of course sat by me at the table watching me eat and ended up with over half of it in her belly.:rolleyes:

Yeah, no matter how many times I say to the dogs, "You're not getting any of my food", they know better.

Yay, I made it back home after my long road trip to Seattle. So glad we went, the game was AMAZING!!! I left my phone in the truck most of the trip but my wife snapped this pic to share with all of you here on the Porch. We had very good seats and I had the time of my life rooting for my team in person.

My dogs get no scraps and aren't even allowed near the table while we are eating (mean, I know).
However, my wife steals my food all the time. I just can't seem to train her. Funny how easily she can train me though.
John my maternal Grandfather from the Isle of Skye used to say "Men are like dogs they can be trained, Women are like cats they cant" :p

True words of wisdom. The simple fact is... They can get along without us a lot better than we can get along without them... And they know it.

Well, John, I like ya, but the Seahawks are the team I hate the most.
(Go, Pack, Go!)

Guess I gotta root for Cowboys this month.
