"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I'm learning to twirl them. I'll post a video later.

I didn't need that image...🤢😁

OOPs, lost my quote, 5K Qs 5K Qs .
Same and opposite directions.
These are Dickies. I got them years ago for a job that didn't last, and have almost never worn them because I look like a football in them. But hanging your pants on your shoulders gives you an upper body workout while preventing the pants from dragging at your knees. No need for the Benny Hill navvy garters.

Flossie's right, you ARE a natural if you have that kind of versatility!! 😲 😁
Thanks for the info on the overalls. I prefer carpenter jeans/shorts with suspenders (more convenient in the bathroom for me, for one thing), but the overalls are OK.

You guys out West are on my mind these days. How is everyone managing with this killer - road buckling heat? How can anyone prepare for these kinds of temperatures? 82° F here in the mid-coast and we are complaining. :( Pushing into the 90°s, not to far inland. We are grumbling but as I remind my wife - we are getting the better end of this deal.

I hope you, who are truly in the midst of the sweltering heat, are managing and staying well. Take care.

We got up to 111 here in Eugene on Sunday, but thankfully the heat dome moved north off of us on Monday. We are fortunate since we took the last few years seriously and bought a decent AC setup for our house, and we have good insulation and mature trees, but a lot of folks aren't as fortunate. I definitely feel for BC going through utterly unprecedented heat during this wave. I also worry for the animals farther north and in alpine areas. A lot of them will simply die in sustained heat. It could also be bad for salmon runs. Hopefully the long term consequences of this heat dome aren't too extreme.

"Hopefully the long term consequences of this heat dome aren't too extreme." Or that these heat events, where heat is such an anomaly, don't cycle around on a regular basis. 😓

Yes, speaking as a resident of Texas, I hope everyone out there gets through this okay.

Much like our extreme winter storm last February, it's difficult when the local infrastructure isn't set up to handle temperature extremes.
People aren't acclimated to it, and may not know how to prevent and deal with early signs of heat exhaustion and dehydration. Be careful out there, and please check in with your elderly neighbors.

check in with your elderly neighbors.
Yeah!
Last year I saw all these signs that said, "We love our seniors". I thought, "Isn't that sweet?"
I suppose it is, but they were talking about their students graduating from high school, not me.

I really like this Kershaw Culpepper. I almost wonder if I even need a BF 2021. Though it might be an omen that I finally voted for something that won.

Working in the yard, I get many crazy ideas.

All dealers, (professional or particular), please note that as of July 1st, 2021 UE taxes will be relevant to ALL incoming parcels, including gifts, whatever the price. This is a concern mainly for buyers, of course.
Taxes will be based on the value stated on the CN-22 form.

Now, back tou our musical program.
