Just came back for a minute going to sell off a big part of my collection so I needed to reup my gold membership. I hope all of you are doing fine I'm sure there several new posters on the Porch. I hope no one is bothered by me coming back to use the exchange for a sales platform to sell my knives. I was driving by the boat launch on Lake Minnetonka not far from our house yesterday afternoon and I saw this rather large boat being loaded onto a trailer. This is not an uncommon thing to see, as it’s one of the larger boat launches on the lake, but usually you’d see it around, say, early November, and not so much (which is to say, never) in mid-December.

The lake had frozen over pretty good more than a week ago, when we had a couple straight days that didn’t get above 7° F. Yesterday and the day before it got up into the 40s, which was I imagine was extremely fortunate for this guy, as it appears he was able to break through the ice and get it to the boat launch.

Unfortunately, it seems his troubles didn’t end there. I drove by this morning and the boat was still there, halfway in the water, with the truck still in the same spot in the ramp. I don’t know what kind of problem they’re having getting it on the trailer and out of the water, but I imagine they’re having even less fun today, because the storms that blew through last night dropped the temperature down into the teens, and there’s nothing above freezing in the forecast.

I’m going to swing by again here in a bit after I pick Eleanor up from school and see if they ever got it out.

I was 16 when the Monkey's were all the rage. If I recall correctly they didn't write their own music, and weren't really musicians. That bothered me.
Mostly what bothered me was that my girlfriend was gah gah over Davy Jones. After awhile I'd had enough. Needless to say, I started dating another girl.

Davy Jones is why David Bowie became David Bowie.

The big boat is on its trailer, right, Barrett? Maybe the ramp is just too slippery in the cold weather for the truck to get the traction necessary to pull the trailer up the ramp. Last pic looks like they'r trying to winch truck/trailer up the ramp, eh?
