"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Thanks Todd
I saw it and ran outside to take pics. Kind of different the way the cloud line was so straight. One of those times I wish I had a good camera and knew what to do with it.
If you want a Camera , get a brand name that is Programable or has Programs and just assume that the Designers of said camera , know a lot more about it than you do , and use one of the program settings . That being said , these new phones take some very nice pictures and yours is not too bad considering the light conditions . Just give your phone , and a camera with programs , a little time to make their adjustments .

Thanks for inquiring about me, I'm fairly well although been a hectic last few months. I been taking care of my fiance through cancer treatments, though she is now done with chemo and only has about 2 weeks left of radiation. She is on the road to a full recovery, but still fighting. She has anal cancer and the radiation has her backside in rough shape, but the cancer is loosing and she's winning. Though it is a painful process. F••k cancer 😡👎On knife related news I lost a most dear knife to me, that being the 85 I bought from @Jiki . Sadly I was working on some wiring under the hood of my truck and about the time I was wrapping up the delivery of some medical equipment we needed at home showed up. Well after setting up a hospital bed in the living room I realized I needed to go to the store. Went outside shut the hood and left, with the 85 sitting on the fuse box under the hood. 😫 But its just a knife, life has been put into a whole other perspective for me lately. I'll be around some more now that things are getting better. Thanks to EVERYONE here for your prayers and support given in the last few months.
smoke raised for the both of you.

Smoke up for your fiance David Misplaced Hillbilly Misplaced Hillbilly . Keep up the fight.

Firstly, my fiance and I wish to say a heartfelt thank you for all the prayers and well wishes, it really means allot to us. Her's is a oft heard story "went in for one thing, found cancer unrelated to that". In October I took her to the hospital for weakness to the point of being unable to walk. That turned out to be guillain barre syndrome, in of itself a very unpleasant thing. While being cleaned up the nurses found a mass near her rectum, THAT turned out to be the cancer. While treatment is ongoing she has a temporary ostomy. Unfortunately she has had a strong reaction to the radiation and her backside is in rough shape, peeling skin and rawness. But while very painful she is in good spirits overall, although due to the pain they've postponed the rest of her rehabilitation to after her last radiation treatment. She has 14 more to go, and already has had the last of her chemo. She's coming home tomorrow, even though we still got a long way to go it will be good to have her home. Thank God!
Notice I said "firstly" at the beginning of this, well here's the "secondly" I mentioned I had lost my 85 which comes as a double whammy to me. One is that I got it from a great member here, and two its the knife pattern wise that just clicked with me. The caplifter 85 turned out to be my "it" knife, the favorite. Well I still haven't found it, but I another porch member has graciously gifted me another 85 as a replacement. I will hold off saying who in case that person wishes to remain anonymous. Once again I'm blown away by the caliber of people who hang out here, and the generosity often on display amongst members. I stand humbled. I have actually had 2 offers so far and I'm certain some of the rest of y'all was planning the same. This place has become a beacon to many of us in troubled times, may it shine on for many more to come.
Your friend,
David and also for his love Joyana.

Being a midwesterner and having lived in the Great White North, I was for rooting for GB. Wouldn't have minded a Rodgers/Brady matchup either. Being a part time resident of Tennessee, I was pulling for the Titans. I'm 0-2 ☹️
Maybe I should root for the Bills 😁

Go Chiefs!

Having grown up in Omaha, I was KC fan. Mainly because they were the closest NFL team. I’m old enough to remember their first Super Bowl win with Hank Stram and Lenny Dawson smoking cigarettes on the sidelines. Ah, those were the days 😜 . I lucked out when we moved to SF in 1980 just before the 49rs started on an amazing run of 5 Super Bowls. 🤞for # 6.
