"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I ordered a couple of knives from a UK maker at the weekend. They were in stock, so I received a tracking number last night. I checked it today, and was shocked to see the package had been delivered to someone in a town 200 miles away! I contacted the firm, and subsequently received a polite apology for sending me the wrong tracking number o_O Are they going to apologise for taking 10 years off my life??!!! 🤨 ;)

Exactly what I was thinking J Just Tom. ...but at least a stout walking stick might come in handy in the mosh pit...
Johnnythefox Johnnythefox I have been an avid fan of The Saints since high school...another full on Aussie band was Radio Birdman ...loved by punks and surfies alike....A couple of years back I was bus driving in Wollongong and who should hop on ..none other than Rob Younger (the singer)...still clad in black...looking weathered but kissed bye bye by a couple of nubile young women...probably his daughters...Aussie punk Royalty!! On MY bus!!

One thing leads to another.

I decided to listen to the Cramps this afty didnt realise it was a 45rpm LP,so as I had to change the drive belt (it sounded bad at 33rpm) 🤣

I decided to play some of my old punk singles from my youth some are rare and valuable though I wasn't to know that when I bought them.

1977 means something to me besides being a favourite Clash song, hence why I love my 77 SAK soldier and carry it around the house a lot.

Kids wouldn't get up and change a LP every 20/25 minutes nowadays, when you play the Ramones songs you dont have time to sit down 😁

Johnny, maybe you (and others) would enjoy looking through the "Traditional Knives and Records" thread, and posting some of your punk favorites there:

Now y'all done it: I had Blitzkrieg Bop going through my head earlier today. Time to break out the No Thanks!: The '70s Punk Rebellion box set(*) and listen while I work. :D

* Actually, to listen to the Spotify Playlist of the same name; I own the box set, but this is easier

I had blood drawn yesterday at my "Wellness" visit with my new Doc. Results look good to me.
My previous GP had been my Doc for 30+ years. He's like 2 months younger than I am, and finally retired. I was sad to see him go, but totally understood.
Hope yours come back OK too, Gary!

Good news Gary :) I lost my dentist about 5 years ago, due to him retiring, and my doctor retired six months before the pandemic - Now I have to see the youngsters

Outlived 3 doctors, my Dentist became a professor but the worst yet is both my plumber and auto mechanic retired! :)
Lol! Last time our plumber was here, he announced he'd be retiring soon! He's been the family plumber for 40 years!
Bad news comes in threes, they say! I'm hoping this is the end of it for awhile!

My new young dentist didnt have the finesse of my old un,I still have nightmares with the pain he caused me.

But worst of all my motorcyle mechanic who I could trust with everything moved or retired years ago,no one I trust nowadays can do the job.

He once sold my motorbike for me when I was out of the country for a drink,I never worked out how much a drink was its a unknown quantity relative to the sum (I think).

My mum phoned me in a panic when he turned up with £2,500 in fivers after he sold it one night.I told her to hide it under the mattress until she could put it in the bank. 😂

mumsnet asking how much a drink is.😁
