"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I had corned beef and cabbage. It was all right, but it would have been better if it had been served above room temperature. (And why the Texas toast in this context?)
Maybe if I'd been carrying green knives.

But I probably should have stuck with the Lenten menu's shrimp banger tacos.

He was 86. Those Walker Texas Ranger reruns must be pretty old. Though Robert Fuller, of Laramie fame, who played a retired Texas Ranger and a Sheriff of the past and a gunfighter on WTR, is still alive.

Chuck Norris did not die, death was Chuck Norrissed.
Death simply could not hold him back any longer.
Actually, he passed away five years ago, the doctors were too afraid to tell him.
Chuck Norris's funeral eulogy will be delivered by...Chuck Norris.
Rest in Peace, Chuck Norris...his enemies do not.

My daughter broke her foot on Sunday while visiting from out of town. She called the local orthopedist, told the receptionist the doctor at the ER said she needed a walking boot so she could walk, and asked whether she could get in without an appointment. Receptionist said, “No problem. Just come to our walk-in clinic.”

Sorry to hear about your daughter’s foot, but that last bit is pretty funny. 😁

One of those "foot in mouth" moments! Sorry, I couldn't resist....

Sorry about her foot, that was kind of funny. I wish we could have saw the receptionists face when she realized what she said!

My niece is going through cancer treatments. She's doing well with them, but lost her hair, or has shaved it off. We drop off a meal every week and chat with her. When we're leaving, I usually say something about "getting out of her hair". I feel awful, but she laughs and takes it in stride. Having a positive attitude goes a long way...

Cancer can kick sand. I am sending healing thoughts to her. A great attitude is key, you're not wrong there.

Good morning all! Hope you are all a great day so far. I am an American but my family tree has deep Irish roots. I traced my irish ancestors back to 1740 Ireland
First, welcome to the Forum! How long have you been in Iowa? I grew up in Nebraska and went to Drake University where I met my beautiful bride many years ago. Can’t say I miss the winters and hot summers but the springs and falls were great. A big reason why we moved to San Francisco where it’s always spring or fall year around.
