"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

That's great. I guess I'll have to pick up a copy of the book for summer reading. (I really enjoyed the Bernie movie)
I think they might still have signed copies at Bookpeople. [EDIT: If not I can get you Skip’s autograph if you like.)

Who says you can't be in two places at once?

Oh, yeah!
Great. it went the wrong way.
I thought my wristwatch had a "mode" (time, stopwatch, alarm set, time set, etc.) that was daylight savings time, but I can't find it this morning; must have been a watch I no longer have.

Still, "springing forward" today is easy on my current watch, since in the time set mode, it advances the "units" selected (hours, minutes, seconds, day of week, day's date) by 1 for each button press. So I just had to select hours and press the button once to get from 4:37 to 5:37.

On the other hand, "falling back" in November (?) is a pain, since I have to advance the hour 23 units to reach the hour which is one hour back. 23 presses of the tiny button is challenging!

(The clocks on the kitchen appliances are easy either direction, since they just require entering the required time (plus a few button pushes to select, and to exit, time set mode.)

But now my car clock will be correct for a while.
I have to check the manual twice a year to figure out how to set the car's clock.

I have a 2020 Outback with a display that basically looks like there is an iPad in the console. Have to go a few levels deep into the settings to toggle daylight savings on and off. Takes 10 seconds once I figured that out after a few times.

Watch, phone, tablet, and computer all do the time change thing automatically. It's the cars and a dozen other clocks in the house that I have to change. I swear I just found one I hadn't changed last fall, a few months ago!

Falling back is easier on my mechanical striking clocks; I just stop them and start them. Springing forward I have to wait for the chimes to slog forward.

I have yet to find the clock-setting instructions in my owners' manual.
