I would think that this Swiss army knife would be quite the deterrent and the main reason they haven't ben attacked since the middle 1800's,cuz I ain't fightin the guy carrying this, could this be propaganda?sure but do you really want to find out.the neutrality card can only go so far before your forced to show some military strength besides tax evasion for wealthy world's leaders.

Actually, Switzerland has mandatory military service for every able-bodied male. After they leave the active military, they are required have access to a military rifle, and to remain a competent shooter until the age of 40. They are tested annually for marksmanship.

Scored this knife, fairly inexpensively, at a knife club meeting today! I suspect the handle is curley Birch, or Birch root??!! I know next to nothing about such knives; I just liked how it looked!! Please tell me anything you know about this knife!! It looks like the "scandi grind" has been compromised, but the knife should still be useful!! It is comfortable in the hand, and fits the sheath perfectly!! Finnish Puukko???

It has a signature on one side of the blade, and a joyful winter reindeer scene on the other!!

Please tell me anything you know about this knife!!
Learn more on the Kauhavan or Jarvenpaa Puukko websites .
There's a lot of knowledge on our own puukko thread, too.

I also think it is a lappin leuku, made in Finland in the Lappland style.

Returning to John Wayne, the ridged pommel isn't exclusive to Jarvenpaa, but is a characteristic style of Kauhaava. Here's a K. Lammi with the milk plastic handle.

If anybody wants to correct me, I won't argue. I don't even know which letters to double.

Looks to me like a Leuku knife that was probably made in Finland . Probably has a Curly Birch handle . Learn more on the Kauhavan or Jarvenpaa Puukko websites .

Thanks, Harry!!!
It looks like the "scandi grind" has been compromised,
Turns out the Leuku knife has a convex grind, which is correct for its usage!!!

Well, I thought you'd be rooting for the home team from Buffalo, but you got your wish, the Canadiens won in overtime and advance to the conference finals against Carolina.
I think it's been over 30 years since a Canadian team won the cup . . . and that's just WRONG.
I am torn, it being my beloved birth city, but I have been in Canada for 56 years!! Since I was 26!! Now I am 81!!! And Hockey has a huge history in Canada!!
