It's a great day in Modoc County, CA today. IT'S SNOWING. We need it badly and they're predicting 6" to 8"; quite possibly up to 12".

From left to right: A corner of the pump house, then the fuel-oil barrel, then the wood shed with a storage shed behind it and then some of our property beyond that.

Smoke and prayers up for Bob.

Beautiful picture!

Thank you.

As a white bearded senior citizen moved south to escape the hard winters, I can only say "The horror, the horror!!"

:D:D

And prayers for Bob here as well.

Beautiful photo Ed. I may be old but am still a kid when it comes to snow. Wishing you a wonderful Thanksgiving.

This has been my first year on Blade Forums and the traditional sub forum and I have learned more about knives here than I have in my whole life. Thank you all for sharing your knowledge and just want to say Happy Thanksgiving to all of you hope this coming year is the best you have ever had and may God bless each and every one of you.

Yes, it is a stock tank but it's one of the wife's planters. I got it for her and drilled some holes in the bottom of it for drainage. She uses it for veggies, etc..

Great knife. I've got a PM in to Bob. Hoping all the best for him.

Thanks for the reply, ED. :) Enjoy your fresh snow; looks like you've got enough wood to get you through the holidays, at least. :D

Thanks to all for the replies about the snow picture. I'm on my first cup of coffee this morning getting up the courage to go out and shovel the walkways and a little later to plow the driveways. It stopped snowing from about 5:00 yesterday afternoon but picked up again about 8:00 last night. It snowed all night and is still going strong. So far I've got 8" to 9" of snow here at my house.

We only use the wood-stove for emergencies anymore (i.e.power outage). Most of the time we use a Monitor heater that runs on kerosene hence the 255 gallon fuel-oil barrel in the picture containing red-dyed kerosene.

Despite the shoveling and plowing I do like the snow. It's so quiet during and for a short time after the snow and you can bet that, when I go out in a few minutes, I'll see tracks from various critters that traveled through the property during the night.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone and in case I forget it later "MERRY CHRISTMAS"

congrats on the snow Ed - I'm jealous.
we're supposed to get 1-2" of rain tonight followed by freezing rain, sleet, & a top coat of ice tomorrow.
(and yes, I'm looking forward to it - we need the moisture and it gives me an excuse to not go to the in-laws where they all "secretly" smoke and don't understand that just because they can't smell it doesn't mean I can't smell it... :( )

wishing a safe and happy thanksgiving to all.

I'll second that 100%. I've only been active here for a few months, but everyone here on the porch has been great! I'm thankful to be a part of it. Happy Thanksgiving, y'all!

It snowed (off and on) the last couple of days and nights here. It's bright and sunny today and the icicles are long. A look out of one of our TV-room windows at the snow and icicles. It's a cold day (20º). Just perfect for Thanksgiving!!

Great looking scenery there, Ed.

Honestly, I´m no snow fan. I have to drive a long distance every single day to work so I´m no big fan of snow.

Whether in the States and celebrating Thanksgiving, or elsewhere and not, best wishes to all Traditional knife knuts.

I hope everyone who celebrates had a happy Thanksgiving.
Every year, I make chopped liver and sculpt it into festive or topical shapes. Here's this year's

Holy Snake Skins, Rachel, is there any medium outside the scope of your talent?? Lizards carved out of wood, scrimshaw, chopped liver sculpting - wow!!:D:thumbup:

Since we're home in Arkansas for Thanksgiving, I stopped by A.G. Russell's today. Picked up a couple things, but I'll post those in the New Additions thread.

Now we're headed to the Arkansas-Missouri football game, where it's supposed to rain the entire time. Temperature's around 40°. Should be a fun time! :D
