"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

I'm back on my Kindle I was at the store this morning and someone broke into my car and stole my laptop, a S&W .380, a SAK and a Wave. Called the police but basically just got a police report out of them for insurance purposes. In fact he didn't even give me a copy said I would have to pick up a copy at the station after Monday. As you probably guessed I'm not in a very good mood.:mad:
Randy: That is terrible:( Especially all that stuff being taken in one robbery. Sorry to hear.

Real sorry to hear that Randy :( Can't help with the guns I'm afraid my friend, what was the SAK?

That's awful, Randy! I'm sorry to hear it happened, and even more sorry to hear that you got such a poor reaction from the police. You would think that they would care that a pistol is now on the black market. Not to mention that it is a felony!

I got in the habit a long time ago and thought maybe I was a little weird at the time. I never leave anything in my car. I mean nothing! I can understand not carrying all that stuff into a store or wherever. If I'm in that kind of situation i.e.(laptop in the car) and I have to go in somewhere, I put it in the trunk. I have an unimportant pen and a cheap flashlight in my console. That's it.

I'm going to post this here until it's known what type of knife was used.
I was just watching the news where it was reported that a woman in Ohio was attacked by her pet boa constrictor. When EMS arrived the snake was biting her face and was wrapped around her body. They were unable to stop the boa from biting so the EMT took out his pocket knife and cut the snake's head off.

I'd like to ask if anybody has heard from or about silenthunterstudios recently? Dan was supposed to be going to hospital for an operation wasn't he? I trust he's well or recovering.

Thanks, Will

Thanks everyone for your kind words. Ironically I had just posted Thursday here on the lounge what I always carry in my vehicle. My Buck 119 was under the seat and they missed that. I had just got the laptop for Christmas and the .380 was the S&W Body guard with laser sight built in I had bought for my wife. I usually carry my Glock 23 but for what ever reason I put Ann's .380 in my pocket this morning. I have my CC permit The SAK was an old one I had forever and don't know the model name but I have several and I have another Leatherman Wave. As far as putting things n the trunk I drive a Honda Pilot no trunk.

Sorry to hear that Randy - that was some nice kit too.

I'm paranoid too about leaving nothing visible of interest in the car. I figure most people cracking cars for a living are petty opportunists looking about as far as one fix into the future, so I always try to situate my car in a spot that would make someone scoping the carpark for likely targets, choose a different car in a different spot.

Like house security measures, it's not going to stop a pro dedicated on accessing your house or car, but 95% percent of them aren't that type of thief, and will just move onto a softer target.

Commiserations, brother - I hope you get it sorted out ok.

Bummer Randy. Sorry to hear that.

I also have noticed Dan's absence. Hope all is well.

sorry to hear about that randy, at least you are safe, junkies or ... ? your neighborhood seems very secluded from what youve described

Compared to Brooklyn it's very secluded Jack but just an average neighborhood for my area. We live on a very quiet dead end road and the front of the house is about a hundred or so feet from the road but the back yard is about 1/4 mile from the road. We only have about 3 and 1/2 acres here.
The break in happened in a Walmart parking lot so it could have been anyone.

Plenty of opportunity at Walmart parking lots, so many car alarms going off no one pays any attention to it. I don't leave anything in the seats or floor. Nor do any of my cars have any stickers that would attract a thieves attention. It may not help but it won't hurt.

Randy Im sorry to hear of the theft of your tackle from the car.
Ive always wanted to keep a brace of Sydney Funnel Web Spiders (Atrax Robustus)
In my glove box. Then when light fingers louie gets his hand in there. Whack!
On a lighter note and I hope you csn see the humour my car was once broken into in my driveway one night. The masterful thief took my cd folder. Later that day I found a trail of discarded cds strewn along the street in gardens. The poor little petal obviously didnt like my music,Johnny Cash, ELO, Classical,
Blondie et al.Thieves-dumb rotten jerks the lot of them.

Just be careful if you get pulled over by the police and have to go digging in the glove box for your registration and insurance! :D

Did you follow the trail of CDs? It might've lead you right to the culprit!

He left me a 1litre can of pineapple juice in the footwell. It was opened so that an unsuspecting person would hop in and kick it over. Clever. It probably cost more than the cds.:D
