A few years ago, the Red Kite (stock image above) was on its way to extinction, but a breeding programme based on the Harewood Estate, has led to a dramatic turnaround. Now, I see these majestic birds regularly out of my window, and you can see more than a dozen in the air at once sometimes over Harewood. Yesterday, they had the good sense to stay out of the way!

Because there were some BIGGER birds around!

The American Bald Eagle looks small compared to the Stellar's Sea Eagle at the front!

Oops! Hit the post button prematurely there!

Unfortunately, I was a long way off from the flying display, with no support for my tiny Point & Shoot Canon, but I got a few pics anyway.

This is an African Vulture being flown here.

Here's the American Bald Eagle.

And here's the big one from the Russian Steppes!

We are lucky too jack and get to see red kites quite often. My old greyhound once stole a rabbit from one!! Not something you see every day!!
Love the old vehicles, my dad had a mate with a bubble car. he said they go three up in it and you could start them in reverse so you had all the gears working backwards!

Awesome reading Jack mate.
When Sue and I were going to the Highlands we stopped into the Bird Sanctuary in the Lake District.
Like you say seeing such magnificent birds in the air- especially a Vulture that had a 9 foot wingspan- it was like a B52 coming towards you  :D

Oh yeah? Says you!
Here's the American Bald Eagle.
Actually that is a dinky one.

Not much of interest to me at the Labor Day flea market. (I've had the button for years: I'm not Polish, but I am Utican.)

It's a Forgecraft. They're tempered harder than the OHs, and the faux dings are shallower.

Hey, I didn't mean to insult YOUR eagle buddy! :p :D For what it's worth, I think it's more handsome than that HUGE Russian eagle! :D

Wow! Guess what I have sat next to my PC, right in front of me! Spooky

Fantastic pictures, Jack Black Jack Black ! Looks like a stellar Fair, my kids would have been over the moon!

Thanks Dylan :) I think they would my friend, my kids are in their late 20's and 30's now, and I found myself wishing they could be young again, just so I could take them there next year! :)

Not so spooky- great minds, and all.

One thing I like about Solidarnocz is the resemblance of the lettering to This is Spinal Tap.

Another ForgeCraft from Washington Forge. In the knife block on my kitchen. Use it often.
