Found out this morning that a knife I bought a couple years ago was/is worth about half what I paid for it. Bummer. I guess I need to stick to new knives because I can never seem to figure out the market. Completed sales on the bay are so random that I can't even get an accurate gauge from that.

Congratulations, Randy and family. Smoke raised for a healthy mother and child.

BRL used to say that the best price guide was to find recent eBay sales of a similar knife in the same condition and look at the post history. The second highest bid was the current value, being the max that someone else, other than the auction winner, is willing to pay for the same knife.

I can often get a sense of value by averaging the first few sold listings of the same knife in similar condition, but sometimes not. I have a nice Howard City Olsen stockman, but the listings are few and the prices all over the place. I just have to find the right enthusiast/sucker. It cost me $8.00, so there's no urgency.

WOW!! Thanks so much for all the congratulations he is really appreciated you my friends are a very special group of folks.

Well it's about 10 minutes until midnight here and still no Jasper. They think he will be before morning but the family was gathered at the hospital and they made me call it a day. It has been a long day My granddaughter Kelsey got to the hospital at 8am this morning and is still there awaiting that boy to make his appearance.

I would like to introduce my grandson and 1st great grandchild Jasper.
