Carothers and Guns

It's too bad DW discontinued their CCO and Officer models. I know they were popular, so not sure what the thinking was.

I was really close to buying an ECP (9mm) at the beginning of the year, knives got in the way again lol. Any experience with those guns? I had a V-Bob about ten years ago or so and sold it to buy my Ed Brown, I’ve always wanted to pick up another DW because it was so damn nice.

I have a TCP in .45 which is very similar to the ECP, it just doesn't have the bobtail. It's a great pistol and easy to carry. It does have a bull barrel however, so the takedown is different than a traditional. I don't think it's a big deal, but some people don't like them for that reason. The trigger on my TCP is also scary good. I'd grab an ECP in a heartbeat if the price is decent.

It’s all depends of your hands. Eco smaller, shorter, I’m not sure that they put a bull barrel on ECP, but on ECO it very helps. In addition because of less barrel length, you have less mass moment of inertia affecting to aim pointing. Your speed to target should be increase. With my hands I would be go with ECP, but had no choice when I got it , so anyway I’m pretty happy.

Hammer67 Hammer67 and Alexei604 Alexei604 thank you for a couple insights on the ECP, I think that’s gonna be on my radar again very soon. As for shooting, I did a little bit with my friend’s son and his .22 while he was out mowing some lanes, we improvised with what I had in the truck at the time since it was unplanned…

When a good friend passed away his widow asked me what handgun of his I wanted. There were three. A S&W .38, a full size Ed Brown 1911 and a CZ 75 9mm. I can’t shoot wheel guns to save my life and as much as I wanted the Ed Brown knowing what it is and cost I chose the CZ 75 for cheaper ammo and more range time.

But boy was that Ed Brown nice.

I was wondering if any of you have experience with D&L fixed sights for revolvers. I damaged the rear sight on my favorite 629 while felling trees, and the D&L replacement sight looks really stout with 3 holding screws. Reviews look great but wanted to see if any of you have used them.
Thanks for your time. Stay safe
