Carothers and Guns

I bought another can since everyone was raving about how they were getting approved in 1-5 days instead of a year. As my luck would normally have it mine took 10 weeks🤷‍♂️
The Omega 9K came out several years ago and is kinda outdated compared to all of the 3D printed cans overwhelming the market currently, but for the size still sounds good, is light considering the materials used, is extremely durable, does well with signature reduction, and accepts a 3-lug mount along with standard mounts. Perfect for my needs since it’ll usually live on the APC9.
Here’s a few pics on the APC along with the 19x, and the VP9. Probably won’t spend much time on the pistols but I wanted to see how they looked.
Gonna need some new sights on that Glock to see over that can~~

For how often it will actually sit on the gun it’ll be fine. I shoot with both eyes open and look through the can instead of over it- occluded red dot style.
I can still hit a beer can at a decent distance this way so still plenty of fun.
Outside of 22lr I don’t often shoot a pistol with a can on it. That said, when the tritium goes dim on the 19X or the VP9 I may put some suppressor height sights on one of them to make it easier on new shooters. Probably the 19X as the blowback on the VP9 is absolutely horrendous! If you don’t wear eye protection when shooting that thing suppressed it’ll blind you, and even when you do it’s pretty brutal.

Had the chance to try out these new little guys today. Silencerco Spectre 9, Huxwrx Ca$h 9k, and Otter Creek Polonium 556k. Spectre sounded better on the pistol than the Ca$h, but the Ca$h sounded better on the MPX. Polonium had a very good tone to it considering how compact it is

Very nice!
I shot the omega 9k on the APC9 this weekend and was happy with it but if I had done any research I would’ve picked up the spectre instead. Local store had one when I picked up the omega after waiting for the approval and it was just about weightless in hand- super cool. Cash was pretty cool too. I think that it’s time for me to start accepting the printed cans and pick one up. A reduced blowback can would really shine on that APC.

nothing wrong with the Omega 9k, I have 2 of them and currently my favorite compact 9mm can. The Spectre did impress my though and like you said, thing feels weightless. I wouldn’t be surprised if Silencerco’s or KAW Valley Precision’s 3 lug system weighs more than the silencer itself. And it had a pretty nice and consistent sound to it, maybe a hint of a FRP but most people probably wouldn’t notice and would depend more on which 9mm sub load is being shot or host being used

I like the idea of the Ca$h on pistols, maybe to help the amount of debris being shot back through the action at your red dot (if shooting one with a RDS). I had a FN 502 and shot it with my Rad22 and still ended up with carbon on it though. But with an APC being straight blowback, or a MP5K platform host it may help with roller dents over the long haul, but that’s a lot of shooting, or a bad clone

It’s definitely a lot quieter than B&Ts 3 lug can, their attachment system is awesome but damn they’re loud

That being said I still wouldn’t mind owning either the Spectre or Ca$h. Cause Merica 🤣

I was just watching some vids on the B&T RBS cans and was thinking of grabbing one since they're very competitively priced when compared to other flow through cans. I know that you really can't have flow through and quiet in the same can but if the other major players are still reducing blow back and are quieter then they may be worth the difference in price🤷‍♂️
You're spot on with how heavy the SiCo 3 lug is. I was so impressed with how light the 9K was when compared to my other older cans but once I installed the 3 lug it lost some of its luster. Still light, especially for how tough it is, but no Spactre.

I had three with my .223 at 400 that were shaping up quite nicely until I starting seeing where the shots were hitting and muffed the rest. Buddy's 6.5 on the left.
