Carothers and Guns

This little Sig holds 17+1!

- SpyderMan - - SpyderMan - yeah, the "freeze" was nonsensical. 1500 firearms banned by name and appearance. Just how our Government operates: feelings, headlines, and photo ops.

I am cautiously optimistic, though. Nearly 7 years in office and this is all that has been accomplished, which can be revoked within 1 opposition election. I think it likely. Perhaps I am being overly optimistic of Poilievre. Time will tell.

I totally agree with your assessment of how this government operates. I could say more, but I’ll leave it be. 🤬

I, too, am optimistic. I’m hopeful Poilievre can turn this ship around.

Though, my worry is how it will be perceived by the public (if Conservatives consider revoking it) now that many have been fooled into thinking this newly implemented measure will improve public safety.

Phill50 Phill50 I've only used an RMR type 2 on a mid size pistol and this stock holosun on the 365. the trijicon is better quality but having to take the optic off for a battery swap and re zero is annoying to me. also on a carry piece a closed emitter makes sense hence wanting to find an eps for the 365.
This is all new to me. I have know idea if mine above is closed or not? The only thing I asked them at the gun store is if I can change the battery without taking it off. So I got that part right.

Picked it up yesterday at Mazama sporting goods in Eugene Oregon. I bet a couple of the CPK group has been there.

yeah the only reason not to go optics on a defensive pistol is if you have a bad astigmatism, in my opinion. This is coming from a steel service pistol/1911/revolver enjoyer. it look like your 507k is an open emitter like the Romeo on mine. the eps is the closed emitter or your optic.

ever been to Keith's in Gresham? man they had a lot of stock but was the most off putting customer service i've seen in a gun shop and that's a low bar to have.
been to a few around the portland dmz area years ago, think Northwest Armory was another

I use an Aimpoint H2 on my AR...but I don't have any optics / RMRs on my carry pistols. I'm not against their use, and many of my online LE and lay friends use them...but I haven't felt the need.

My astigmatism doesn't bother me with the 2 MOA Aimpoint. I get a small amount of starburst, but it's mostly a non-issue as the "point" is clear enough.

No I haven’t been to Keith’s. I’m in Coos County so I’ve been to most everything from Eugene to Medford.

I find the last couple of years irons aren't as crisp as when I was younger. A good Trijicon or Holosun optic is sharp and crisp whether on a long gun or pistol. I have a bit of astigmatism, but think it makes a bigger difference now that I find I need reading glasses.

I have never had an open reflex sight get blocked or water cause issues in the reticle. But these new Holosun enclosed reflex sights do have me looking at trying one.

Well, I did pretty well on my qualifications, (day and night), with the sheriff's office on Wednesday, so I guess I can still get by with just the Trijicon HD or AmeriGlo "Bold" night sights on my Glocks, (at least for now).

(I don't wear glasses outdoors, but I do use 1.25x reading glasses both at the computer and while reading indoors.)

Those are such great sights.

I'd post the video, but want to keep it family friendly. The recent police shooting in Bristol, CT had a video where the officer (wounded in the leg) took down the suspect armed with an AR-15 with a single shot from his RMR equipped pistol. Not saying he couldn't have done it with his iron sights, but it was a really impressive shot.
