carry in comfort.

I have inside the waistband, for my Glock and Ruger SP101. Pocket carry, ankle carry.

Behind the right hip, in front of the right hip, cross draw front of left hip, and shoulder holster (only when hunting, or not worried about a quick draw).

I also carry frequently in my "man purse" with holsters in two different Maxpedition bags. You can carry your gun, wallet, two spare mags and flashlights, phone keys etc, and a notebook (work related).

I frequently carry right front pocket. It is comfortable, and convenient. It means I have my gun, when I might not otherwise.

Apendix carry only works for me in certain situations, with certain gun/holster combos.

I also make a holster now and then (as gifts for other people so far).

This was my first attempt for a friend.

(the flashlight and spare clip holder was just a scrap of leather from cutting out the sheath that looked like it might be enough for a pocket holder.

Here is my 2nd attempt I threw together for my dad's Ruger 9mm. Pocket carry or tuck inside the waistband. Only problem? The clip is so strong, it makes it pretty hard to get it to slide in your pants, and take it off.

Milt Sparks holster have always been my preferred choice ... here is his BN55 ... 30 years and still going strong

OWB on my right hip with a butt forward cant ... worked fine for me and I just dress around the concealment issue ... if you're pretty big you can hide a full sized pistol no problem. Suits, cargo vests, casual jackets, loose shirts - they all work.

I wouldn't carry inside a boot unless it was a "back up" ...

Fanny packs work well on the beach ...

Coat pockets do the job when it is deep in freezing temperatures and you need to zip up the coat.

Yeah, deep concealment is the fascination with it. Around here, they go for $1300 so when I said even trade, that's the only way. LOL I fell for the whole .380 thing a few years back with a LCP & never carried the thing. I always opted for a 9 instead except when I rarely wear shorts. Then I'd carry the lcp. That's where the Rohrbaugh would fit in my rotation. 9mm that I could carry with shorts & not have 'em drag the ground. HOWEVER NC just passed an updated c&c law this past Tuesday, and all my c&c concerns are gone! I never thought I'd say this, but I'm about to invest in a glock26 for 3 season carry & be done with it.

what's the new law?? I try to stay up on ccw laws around the country because I travel a lot but I've been falling behind recently. its hard to keep up with all that sometimes.

It was signed last Tuesday, but doesn't go into effect until October 1st. In NC, we'll be able to carry concealed in bars & restaurants that serve alcohol, just can't imbibe while carryin'. We can also carry into places that charge admission and public functions like parades & such. The big step is you'll be able to hunt with a suppressed firearm! This new law is a BIG step forward in this state!

good for you guys! always nice to get a win in that department.

Hey Beef, just FYI, if you haven't made the PM9 purchase yet, the XD-S is now out in 9mm. Same basic size as the PM9, likely more reliable, and cheaper.

I still like the XD-S in .45 though. ;)

To follow up on my previous post here, I have and carry at different times a 1911 (all-steel Kimber, 4" barrel and officer grip), a XD sub-compact in .40, and my XD-S in Milt Sparks VM2's. My PF-9 is carried in a K&D Thunderbird (previously mentioned and no longer made). If the wait on the VM2 hadn't been so long when I got the PF-9, it would have a VM2 as well.

My dad has VM2's for a PPKS and a Springfield EMP. My buddy has them for several others as well. You will be hard pressed to find a more comfortable IWB holster. There's a good reason you see so many recommendations for them, mirrored even here on this thread. Well worth it, especially in the long run.

Beef- Just about all the pocket sized pistols can be temperamental. None of them are Glocks. I knew that when I bought my PM9 and just decided that I would do what it took to get one that ran right because I find it a great combo of shootability and carry comfort. Fortunately I got one that has been flawless for over 2000 rounds after the initial 200rnd break in. All I've done is put in a new recoil spring. Love mine and it's my primary carry. That said, I have had it cerakoted and added big dot sights and if I had it to do over I could have saved $200 and gone with the cheaper CM9.

I like the XD-S but they should have made the 9mm smaller than the .45. and it doesn't quite fit my hand right. i never shot one but it felt goofy to me. not bad...just off?? mayb if I shot one I'd like it more.

Well, everyone has different hands. I just can't get used to a Glock no matter how much I try. If we were all the same, there wouldn't be SO many options. It would have been nice if the 9mm XD-S would have been smaller, but based on some of the details I've read about the engineering that went into the design, I don't think they could've accomplished that without starting over from scratch.

Just came across this pic I forgot I had in the bucket of my XD-S in her VM2, for what it is worth.

Call me simple, but, I still loves the $8 Glock holster at 430 owb with an unbuttoned button-down cover shirt for both my 26, 17 and even 30. I also like the simple Don Hume 715 iwb for my 26 and I also have one for my 30. For my 686+ I use a Simply Rugged sourdough pancake owb. Awesome holster.

What makes the biggest impact for me is the belt - I love love love my Wilderness Instructors belt. I can carry my 686 all day with that belt.

My newest holster by Master Maker/Designer Red Nichols. Sales now being handled by High Noon holsters.
Allows me to conceal a full size full weight 1911 under just an oversize un-tucked T-Shirt.
I carry all day every single day so I need the best leather.
I carry in that "sweet spot" right behind the hip. That is why my holsters are custom and all feature a strong forward cant.
That moves the gun butt "up" so that the firearm conceals very well.
A good concealment holster will pull the firearm in very close to the body.
A good proper and stiff gun belt is also important for maximum concealment.

Also another favorite by the incredible Matt Del Fatti for my vintage SIG/Browning BDA also in .45 ACP.
The SIG/Browning BDA is the European forerunner or predecessor of the American SIG P220.

My Wife carries a Stainless S&W J-Frame in a Milt Sparks PMK (not shown) - The best holster ever made/designed for OWB J-Frame carry.

Nice holsters! I make most of my own nowdays. Kydex is crazy easy to mold and it works pretty well. It is lightweight and keeps the sweat off your gun. The downside is that it doesn't flex like leather and can be slightly less comfortable because of that fact.

Speaking of the Kahr's, I've got several and they have all been flawless performers. They have great triggers and are accurate. I'm sold on them.

One thing I do with all my new pistols is to rack the slide several hundred times. You'd be surprised how much this helps to smooth out any rough spots and smooth out the action. A detail disassembly is very important too. I've bought guns that had an unbelievable amount of small metal shavings, etc on the inside. Not a good thing...

Here is a very simple kydex IWB with leather loops for my CW45. Very soft shooting pistol for it's size btw...

This thread has some of the nicest holsters I have seen. Amazing all the options that are out there.

Thanks folks. Last time I checked Matt Del Fatti is not taking any orders now. He always did have a super LONG waiting list that would make a BUSSE waiting period seem like it was only a week.

I loved looking at the other holsters in this thread. And I really love checking out the knife sheaths that you folks make and have made for your knives.

Beautiful stuff!

Comp-tac Infidel worked well for a bit when all I had was a G21, which is now converted to a 460 Rowland with a Raven Concealment trigger guard. I mostly carry an HK P200SK in a Minotaur MTAC but it is proving bulky; may switch to the Infidel or Infidel Ultra. I also carry a P229 in a Kramer IWB on occasion but the grip is like a rasp. Less is more in my experience.

Wow! I have been carrying for 18+ years and always thought discomfort came with carrying. Well not any more! The pain in my hip is gone, the constant adjusting is gone, the reminder that I have a gun on is gone! In fact that is the only complaint I have is I am not aware I am even carrying. I can't say enough about this holster! Get one at any cost!

Not only is it functional but it is absolutely beautiful. I feel kinda bad it is an Inside the waistband rig.
