Carrying your survival knife

You could leave more cord on it and make it adjustable. I think 1" nylon webbing with d-rings would be better yet. That way you could set it for wear on top of your parka, under your t-shirt, or whatever in between.

Good idea, The only reason I used the cord was because it was small, light and fits anyway you put it :D

But im thinking of making some type of harniss that goes over both shoulders, to make it more sturdy.

Any cal , I sold the old car with that repair still holding good .

It sounds cool written down , but it felt anything but cool doing it at the time . There is something about being the only person for hundreds of miles around and knowing that getting out is totaly and absolutely up to you being able to put your head knowledge into practice that makes you feel REALY mortal

anyway , back onto the topic , my knife rides in a belt pouch . pretty much 24/7 , I have a smaller one that I take to Church with me , since its not realy for me the place to be wearing a weapon ( its a weapon to the cops and to others who dont have one , even if to me its a tool )

When in the bush I always carry a knife. Usually my Ka-Bar on my belt, and a folder in my pocket. I'll often bring a skinner aswell

Before I read books from Lars Fält and Ray Mears I had never seen the baldric style carrying option or the neck carry option. I usually carry my F1 in the backpack, but if I am to use it, I hang it around my neck. To "normal" people it might look "Rambo", but I know where my knife is and even better, where to put it afterwards.

I like the Ka-Bar kydex sheath. I have a friend buying loads of knives for me in the US so I hope he brings something fun for me :)

I live in California, which has pretty sane knife laws if nothing else. any type of hiking or serious foraging I do I wear a fixed blade knife on the belt of my marmot bag. since no non-switchblade folder is illegal regardless of edges and blade lengths, I wear what I'm comfortable with for what I'm doing.

I also often have a hori-hori on me as I use it for work, and since it's technically a knife and fixed, I wear it pretty prominently. The only tweak thing the DAs seem to manage on knife convictions is trying to claim a fixed blade was concealed after someone proves to them that it's not illegal to carry openly.

But, to address the question- My SOG government or my Meula Ranger are on my hip when I'm out, and the other one is in bag if I'm going very far out. I also have and SAK that's just always there. Nothing else, as I don't get a lot of benefit from having 4 knives for every purpose, and weight matters after several miles on a trail. The exception is a decent hatchet, if I'm going out into the brush for real. I use mine a lot.
