It's been wonderful to see this WIP. Two very talanted makers working together and the result is fabulous!!
GG to both of you!!

Ryan, your work has been fantastic.
It has been a pleasure to collaborate in building your first knife with guard and tang hidden.
I really enjoyed this WIP, thanks for letting me be part of this.
I hope the WIP has been productive, I learn a lot by watching of the masters of this forum, I hope someone acquired any ideas on me also.
Thank you very much to everyone for the compliments and congratulations to Ryan.
Claudio

haha .. I did not know .... he said he was the first .....:D

:D

Thanks guys for taking us along for the ride on this. What a beautiful knife this turned out to be. Of course with you two doing the work, it had to be great.

Awesome work on both ends, a really successful collaboration. I appreciate so much that both of you guys have taken the added time and effort to give newbies like me a valuable insight into the processes involved creating a great knife. Claudio, your blades are totally inspiring. Ryan, I love how much oak you left on that deerhoof, I can only imagine how that thing must snap into a chop!

Thanks Everyone for the comments and support. No this was not my first hidden tang, but I can count them on one hand! There will be more this was a great opportunity for me to open another chapter.

My leather skills are no where near where I would like them to be so I am having a friend make a suitable home for this blade.

Today I spent most of the day cleaning up the guard, crisping up the handle lines and even got some help from Claudio on cleaning up a few marks that showed up on the blade :o

The knife is finished and ready for some Sheath action.

I want to thank Claudio for trusting me with this blade. I am a new maker trying very hard to get things right and make some cool stuff along the way! I really was out of my element and felt the pressure the entire way. It is no where near perfect but it feels good. Thank you my friend!

Very nice - congrats to both makers.

Thanks for showing the work.

Ryan I've always seen that wood around and never knew what it was. Thanks for revealing it to me!

Looks so fantastic. There's no abrupt "break" in styles from yours to Claudio's; it just flows. Great work from both of you!

Knife turned out great!!! Thanks for all the work to put together the WIP thread, I know how much time it takes to document, as so many others have said it is very exciting to see these projects come to life.

Now just Waiting to see the leather work to top off the package.

Beautiful job both of you !

The bog oak was a great choice - it really picks up the black in the laminated blade:thumbup:

What a fantastic finished piece this came out to be!! Claudio you have absolutely GORGEOUS blades, those are seriously amazing!! Ryan the work that you did on the handle and guard looks STUNNING and compliments the blade SO well. This is just beautiful! Great job to the both of you!

Very very cool guys!!! I really like the finished product... great lines, super materials, and great workmanship.

Top shelf stuff fellas. :)

Thanks again everyone for the comments and following this thread. I knew I would not to the knife the justice it deserved with my Leather abilities. I have a friend in Arizona that does some leather work, I had him help me out with one in Cobra. We followed My copies of Paul Longs DVD's as closely as we could and I am happy with how it came out.

I will get some better photos when I get some time. I will be taking this with me to Blade 2013.
