Case Bose 2016 annual knife?

I like the look of the lock back this year, but I need small!! Not big!! Anyone have a Coffin Jack they want to send to Bolivia so I can see if I actually like it, lol!

Looks like Case is finally throwing us knife users a bone CV and Tony Bose , what a winning combination .

Most the pics are gone from recent posts.

No stag or mother of pearl this year, but a Bonestag handle at 125 pieces made. They are also making 125 pieces of Abalone, 200 Ebony, and 275 each of the Chestnut and Brown bone.

My favorite has always been the Chestnut. Good to see they are upping the number for those, though I may take the opportunity to get an Ebony, this year.

Thanks knife head Mr hampton for being and active member here on the forum and being the spokesperson for the wilfred works.

..

When or who will offer the case bose anual collaboration?

Tha nks

They typically get released around October or November each year but that isn't carved in stone. This is a bit off topic so if you like, click on my username and send me an email. I'll email you back with some dealers to check out.

I love his knives.

I have been. Collecting knives since age 10 now i am in my early 30s and i can honestly say his knives are flawless. Something about having holding using a bose knife that you just can describe. His attention to detail fit and finish and talent make mr Bose a legend.

I am planning on collecting more of his work.

Try a tony bose and you will see what the talk is all about .

Here are the glamour shots of the two prototypes that Tony sent to Case for them to study and set up production. Tony sends them a completed knife and a pull-apart. I'll put the pix up in the Bose Knives thread as well. The Case version will be constructed identical to these with the micarta or some kind of synthetic spacer in the end of the knife pocket to protect the blade tip edge from over-travel.

I approve of this message.

Looks like a buy for me.

This is like a dream come true. I have been very let down by some other manufactures GEC, Schatt and Morgan, and Queen.
seems they can't seem to get it right, and still insist the products are acceptable. Blade rap, poor lockup (vertical movement),side to side play at blade pivot. I have 3 other collab's Ark Hunter, Lanny's clip, and the wharncliff trapper. All very good.

Looking at the tear down pictures of the Wilfred Lockback this should be the ONE. Look out Paul Long, 1 ea Wilfred lockback 6.5 bonestag will probably be headed your way, my Wilfred is going to be riding in a purse.

Sounds like your middle name is 'black cloud' to have such bad luck with today's knives.

A bit of vertical blade play in a truly traditional lockback has never been unusual. I have older lockback knives from Buck, Schrade, and Camillus that have it. To get perfect lockup on an absolutely traditional design requires milling accurate to 0.001". Not happening on a non-custom knife.

Modern lockbacks, such as Spyderco's do not use a completely traditional lock design. they have tweaked the shapes of the mating surfaces of the lock such that dead nuts accuracy is not required.

Nah, "Patrick"
And most Mountain man, (Queen, Schatt Morgan) Remington bullet type knives I ever had suffer from "blade rap" where the edge comes in contact with lock bar under side from either closing to aggressively, or just being in the pocket from simple compression applied while one carries. I've got my fingers crossed this wont have that.

The thickness of the blade is very impressive, and the match strike is very nice. Looks like the top of the blade is crowned, nice detail.
Hope these become available soon.

According to the info there's a g10 spacer to help with blade rap. I hope it works!

I hope you didn't take it poorly, just my NY sarcastic humor. It can be very frustrating to buy a product that doesn't live up to expectations. It can be even harder today when so many purchases are made sight unseen.

jrtodd46, that's what i'm hoping also. Notice the lockbar and spring are integral which cleans up the inside where the edge comes closest. with the G10 spacer hopefully the tip/belly of the blade will make contact and not induce those nasty flats that happen when the edge contacts metal.

joeradza, yeah all good. just thought you may have thought I was "Native American" and didn't want to be mis-leading:thumbup:
