Case Bose 2017 knife

It's hard to tell what your monitor looks like, on mine it's not quite as brown. Almost a cross between the knife and the shell. A little muddy, but no where near the light color that Case shows.

Yep. I understand. It shows as very brown. Similar to the Tribal Lock Ron showed the other day. I will probably just order one and be happy with it, I'm sure?

Yes. I like both looks. Interestingly, I don't care for the Case rendering color??? They need to get with the program? Or maybe not since they sell so many knives?

At least this is a case where the actual knife looks better than the stock photo (in my opinion, at least). Normally it's the other way around; you order a knife because you like the dark red color in the stock photo, and you end up with salmon pink. o_O

They usually go in the opposite direction with color. They show deep red and you end up with pink. Here they show "saddle or tobacco"

It's much more...rectilinear, flat, across and lengthwise than I had expected. Great looking knife though. That "flatness", if you will, would/should make it a very pocket friendly blade, even at 4.125". And I like the color better as well. Fwiw.
Thanks, Neal

Just got it, very nice F&F, perfect centering.

Saw a short YouTube last night where the presenter said the action on the second batch of Tribal Locks had improved over the first run. The vendor said the first batch felt gritty when opening. I have also seen remarks on Instagram where the owners said the lock was very stiff when closing the knife.

Anyone have any thoughts on either condition? Unfortunately I am not anywhere where I can go to handle the knife before purchasing so I am concerned about ordering from out of country and then having a hassle with shipping for a return. I like the look and size of the knife and think the pricing is very attractive .

Just got my Zebrawood, very nice chatoyance front and back.

Duper, neither of mine feel gritty at all. The Harvest Orange is a little stiffer than the Zebra, but both are fairly east to open and unlock. The Zebra blade swings freely to about half open when unlocked and pushed towards closed, Orange requires the usual push closed all the way. Don't know if they're from different runs.

Thanks for the response. And I have to agree that there are some nice striations running through your handles. Very nice!

I just pulled the trigger on an ebony tribal lock, with the propeller shield. Has anyone got one of these, is the ebony nice and black or does it have some brown in it ?

My new mint green Tribal Lock arrived today. Great fit and finish. Nice weight and size and very slim and attractive IMHO.

I may need to try a full size Case Copperlock based on the good F&F of this Tribal.

Strange one this- I liked the look of zebra wood -but postage to Australia was too outrageous. this was the same for most other handle options as well.
my most favoured Case dealer said they were not getting any. That left me with one option.

Harvest Orange-here is a size comparison for those who might be interested. I love the tribal lock.
Gonna see if i can darken out the lighter patches with some paint on UV reactive dye -I was thinking of a full boil and soak RIT dye job to cherry red -but they had this new stuff so I'll try that.
I'm not a huuuuge fan of this colour but it is nice and bright.
cheers.

Stopped by my local knife emporium on my way home today with and decided to pick up a navy jigged bone version to accompany my "yeller" knife.

I just love these things.

I'd like to chance a Eureka, but they will be extremely expensive. Finding a reliable US dealer who sends overseas, and even more vital, ensuring that it has no 'issues' before leaving....

Excellent pattern and nice to see CASE offering it.
