Fan! I have a yellow CV one.

That bermuda green one is sure tempting, and has been since they brought it out, but I am still restraining myself.

Saw the thread and had to show mine. I am proud of this. Pre 1970 Stainless Steel Trapper in very fine condition. Of course I have to carry it.....No safe queens.... My scanner does not do depth well....You can see the bone well though right?

I just bought the Bermuda Green one!:D

Ok,so maybe 2 a month.:foot: ...No really,no more til' September ;)

:thumbup:That's a nice one CJ!

Did the older slimlines all have two blades?

To your previous post about not another knife until September, I say, "Yeah sure!" To your second question, I believe they made a single blade one as well with a clip. I do recall seeing them offered on ebay-Queen for sure had them, bid on a couple in the past. Thank you for your compliment!

I just recently gifted my Case CV to my Dad as he expressed a desire for a largish single blade custom, told him the Case would hold him over till he decided what he wanted in a custom and bought the one he wanted...of course at that time I will want my Case back...lol.

You're welcome :)

I'm just saying, when I do a search for "CASE Slimline Trapper",some older ones (pre-1980?) seem to always have two blades. If this is the case, when(& why) did they start making them with only one blade?

Thanks,

You may be able to find the answer from Case itself. It may prove to be your best source for research. Also, if you ask on Bernard Levine forum, you may get your answer right quick as well. I have to say, I do not know.

Does anyone hava a picture of a Slimline in their hand so I can get a rough idea on how large they are.
Thanks

Nice one CJ... That particular model is just not one you'll get see much anymore!.

In my more formative years when I was a wee lad these patterns were referred to as a Farmers Trapper where I was raised up in the south.. Anyone else recollect this nick name being used for this pattern?

Anthony

I recall them being referred to as a Farmer's knife, as a Dixie Switch, and several other things. I've mostly seen single bladed examples, whether new or old.

Gimp, the handle is approximately 4.25" long.

Here's a yellow CV by itself:

You have good reason to be proud of that one...

It looks like brother Anthony has been holding out on us... I've never seen a collaboration knife like that one before.. Very classy

I usae to have one of the Brown Delrin one's, but got rid of it because it had alot of blade play. Is that normal. I figured being the cheaper Delrin one it was. Been looking at one of the Dark Red Bone CV ones lately though.

I have the black G10 slimline trapper that I purchased from GP Knives. Overall I really like the knife, but am a groupie to that style anyways (and toothpicks). Mine has a SS blade, with the "rough" grind on the blade, but the finish was left to be desired. I had to file some of the tang down to get a halfway decent line-up of the blade to the spring. When I first got it, the blade had about a 10 degree angle on it due to poor fitting. It's better now, but you can definitely tell it's a mass-produced knife.

I just got the Bermuda Green Bone yesterday.I think I got a good one. These scales are really nice.It came sharper than all the others, except for the yeller one.

Black G10 is next!:)

I think I see a pattern here... :p
