I know, I know, it's not a Case, but I think I know where Don got the inspiration...

Mike

P.s. Thanks Muddy672 (USN) for pic.
P.p.s. Thanks Don for making it.

That Hanson makes an okay knife but don't talk him up too much, it'll go to his head. ;):p

(Just kidding, Don... really...:D)

Don,

I'll trade a good old rusty (patina) Case knife for one of your inferior slimlines:D

 Agreed,That one's a real looker!!

Not surprisingly this piece gets (and deserves) a lot of attention. Again, I get no credit for the pics (thanx Durwood), but I do get credit for having it in my possession... for now:D. Thanks again, Don, for building this beauty.

It is because the peacock appaloosa has become extinct from global warming. The bone is now under the jurisdiction of the UN. Unless you have the pre Ban Ki Moon peacock appaloosa.:D Man, I hope I am not infracted for that one.:o

I decided against getting the black G10.I already have enough knives with black G10.

Here's another one I like, except for the big, gawdy letters on it.I like the smooth chestnut, but could do without the "Tested XX"

I'll probably get it anyway.:D

This one's also on the short list(probably purchase around Dec.09)
Although I'm partial to single blades,I think I'll make an exception for this one.Love that red stag, wish it was CV though.

I believe you are referring to the date code that Case stamps its knives with. In the current system, one "x" means 2009, two "x"s means 2008. The system of dots and "X"s helps identify in which year the knife was made.

In 2000, the stamp had five dots, and five "x"s. Every year from 2000 to 2005, one dot was removed. Every year from 2005 to 2010, one "x" will be removed. Presumably, there will be a new date code stamp in 2010 or 2011.
