Case Slimline Trappers

The slimline trapper has always been my favorite Case pattern. Stylish look, great size. I was checking out the G-10/ss trapper at the Shepherd Hills event this past weekend. It has a great look and feel to it. If they would start making that in CV, I would really be a happy camper.

+1 on that.
I really like the look and feel of my G10 slimline trapper (and stockman).
They came with exceptionally sharp edges, too.

In fact, I'd love to see a full line of slippies from Case in black G10/CV.

I bought a slimline trapper a few months ago. I took it back because the spring didn't fit properly. I realize it's a less expensive model, but still.

I have one of these pretty gals on the way. Should be here any minute, along with a few other goodies from Bradford.

Just got my G10 slimline, and she's sweet. The G10 is very flat, with no contour on the edges- which will be remedied shortly. And wow! Crazy sharp! I picked up 3 new Cases today, and they are all better than shaving sharp. This must be a recent development- none of my other Cases have even come close to being this sharp out of the box. These things are Golden Spyderco sharp. Good job Case!

:thumbup:supasuprab0b,Glad you like it....enjoy:)

I've also noticed that recent production Case knives are much sharper out of the box (and generally with better f&f overall) than those of just a few years ago.

Another thing I really like about the G10 Slimline Trapper is that Case doesn't "polish" the blades on them.
The finish on the blade, sort of but not quite a satin finish, goes real well with the G10.

Which also means you can pinch the blade open with your thumb and forefinger, instead of having to use your thumbnail. I can't do this with the other slimline trappers, but I can with the G10 version. A big + in my book.

i can pinch mine open like that and its the delrin model.

why wouldnt you be able to do it with other models with a polished blade?

The blade on your brown delrin model is finished the same way as the black G10 (not polished- showing grind marks, similar to a Buck 301). The other models have polished blades, which makes them too slippery for me to pinch open. I have big, meathook hands- it's entirely possible that other folks would be able to pinch open their polished slimlines. For me, the sharp edges on the unpolished blades give just enough grip that I can get ahold of 'em.

Congrats on your first Case! The one you have is an economy model- they get even nicer as you move up the range. I love my Cases- I have a "few". :D
