Case Sod Buster Jr. Yellow in CV (Issues)

Sorry guys, I couldn't find my thread. I didn't realize it was moved.

In no way was I trying to say Knifeworks.com was bad. I've bought about 60 knives through them and they are always fantastic.

This one is already in the mail with a letter and on it's way back to Case. :)

I'll let you know how it comes back.

Shouldn't be a problem finding the thread, David. There was a link in the Traditional Forum (under the same title) and if you had saved the url of the thread it would remain the same as well.

As a last resort, you can always just check in User CP the threads you have started and it will be listed there with all your others.

Update:

I just got the knife back from Case yesterday. They hadn't even had it for 10 days. I wish they would have kept it and actually did some QC on it.

They made the blade tighter so it doesn't have the side to side wobble but now it's hard to open. Basically overkill. Not only that but the last inch or so it doesn't want to snap itself shut because it's been peened too tightly.

The blade is now center but now the tip is sticking up just above the handle where it can snag on stuff. It's ridiculous.

Lastly, the pins on the side of the handles in the middle, were reused, but not put in the same way so the contour is wrong and they stick up off the handle enough to snag things. I mean they didn't even take the time to buff the brass pins back down. WTF?

So, I have decided that since this is the first knife I've sent to Case and gotten service on that I'm just going to have to buy Queen or GEC instead so I don't have these issues in the first place.

Granted, I can sand down the brass pins to match the scales and I can grind the kick a bit to make the blade sink into the handle better, and I can also open and close it about 1000 times so that it's "broke in" enough to close the last inch on it's own.

This knife came back from Case in worse shape than it left my house in.

This knife is going to be destroyed as I will not spend the money in shipping a 2nd time to ship this back to Case. Heck they may not even fix it right the 2nd time. So, this poor knife is going to go into a lake or the trash or something. No more shipping this knife.

Frustrated a bit? Yep.

sorry you had such a rough time with this. I know if i'd had this kinda pain i wouldnt be a fan either... sounds like you got every right to be irritated. on the upside i hear great things about GEC:D
I wouldnt toss it, just throw it in your box of beaters or a drawer and forget about it.
Case screwed up on this but i also think that Knifeworks had their head someplace else for pulling that soddie that had issues and engraving it anyway.
I mean they sell knives its not like a things remembered where they arent knife people:confused:
sorry man

I watched about 35 tractor trailers run over it tonight after work. Now it's getting run over by heavy equipment and mashed into the dirt.

I set it free....

You put a knife on the roadway so people could drive over it? WTF?

No.

It was driven over by a whole bunch of large tractor trailer style dump-trucks on a construction site. That's how it was also being run over by heavy equipment. I used to do plumbing for almost 10 years and my dad is a master plumber. I get to go see him on the way home from time to time at various job sites. Tonight was the case (pun intended), and a perfect way to get rid of the knife. The dumps were lined up like mad getting rid of dirt for a road since Winter is soon to be here. The knife was closed and ended up being mashed so hard into the liners and then bent on a big rock that it wouldn't do anything anyway. Plus if you've ever been on a construction site and seen those dump trucks, you'd know you cannot even attempt to damage a tire from one with a knife let alone a slippy.

The knife, and warranty work was a failure, and it wasn't going to go to anyone else as they would have hurt themselves with it.

I destroyed it Monster Garage style.

You should send it back to Case now and ask them to fix it. Tell them you didn't like the way they fixed it the first time.

This is really bad news about CASE.

I understand your dramatic burial of the soddie, earth to earth...! But I still feel you should complain to CASE about this,it's shoddy.
