Cast Iron Beckerheads, Sound Off!

That blonde lady that keeps me in line snagged one of these the other day from a yard sale:

Anyone ever seen or used one of these?
Reminds me of a Bundt cake pan, haha. Never seen one of these here before.

have seen them before - but not at a price I was willing to pay.

Give us a review of it after you've used it a time or two. I've never used a Dutch Oven and am having an internal debate about whether this would open up all kinds of options and make one even greater or would be a major pain and limit functionality.

put a can of beer in the bottom, baby reds, baby carrots, and a large onion cut into 8ths in the middle, and 3-4 chicken leg quarters or thick cut pork chops dusted with garlic, lemon zest, & black pepper on top -- add the lid and surround with coals like you would any other dutch oven.

Why do you do this? I have to try it now.

Some bleed over from an ESEE thread:

I have Borough Furnace and they are not worth it. Don't bother. You can get a few Griswolds or a whole stack of Lodge for the price and be better off.

I picked up a round ten inch griddle and a long rectangular one from Lodge. I have yet to use them, but it shall be very soon, probably this weekend.
But, being a metal junkie, I had to improve the finish on the round unit. I broke out the angle grinder and had at it. Too many "Tool Time" episodes from back when have spoiled me. :adoration:

I guess it's off to factory cast iron seasoning jail with me......:tiger:

Ha! Someone else is did this too! I've got a collection of old Griswold and Wagner, and most of it is glass smooth. Lodge is good quality, but doesn't have the labor invested in getting the finish like the old stuff has. Finishing new Lodge myself is a win-win.

Those look great Yellow!
I picked up 2 6qt Lodge dutch oven a while back NIB for $25 each. I'm ashamed to say I have yet to givem a go!
But, its been so mild so far this year. I had figured on making some stew or what not on a nice cold day...
